You say he will cost too much and tj and ms want to buy undervalued players but offset that against the cost of him firing us to the premiership and a couple of mill is a bargain.

That sounds like the argument going to be used by practically every manager in the Championship to their Chairman.
True Bing , what you say makes perfect sense , but do you think Rhodes would help sign a few more season tickets up?
Yes - I can see that but players signed too expensively to get the season tickets up have a habit of not working as you would like. I think back to the days of Allan Simonsen for example.
Oh I would love us to sign him - maybe he will go for less than we think. I can't help feeling that his second half of the season (bar the last few games) will have put some 000's onto his value.
We were getting 4k gates and little other revenue when we bought Simonsen, and paid him £1500 a week. That's the same as the average League one salary now, but 30 years ago. He was almost certainly one of the highest paid players in the country.
It might be more comparable to Clive Mendonca you know. At the time £700k was a huge amount of money for us, but Murray found it and the rest is history. When Mendonca joined us he had a record of a goal roughly every 2.5 games, and improved that to 1 in 2 as he shot us to play off success. Rhodes, at the age of 22, has just 11 goals fewer than Mendonca had when he joined us, but has played half the games.
Yes Rhodes goals have been at a lower level, but no deal will be £5m up front and if he fired us to the Premiership it might be viewed as a bargain. I think his all round game gives him every chance to be a top level striker, and if the Mysterons were prepared to dig into their pockets it might be a very decent gamble.
So Warnock is having a clear out. It would not be a surprise to me if Wednesday signed Rhodes. Like it , laugh at it, love it or not, Wednesday is a big club, the crowd at their last game was over 38,000, they are well financed and well supported and Rhodes' father works for Wednesday. The price for him will probably depend on the play offs. If Huddersfield get promoted, he could stay or be sold for a big price. I suspect the price will be lower if Huddersfield fail in the play offs, as, the club will be keen to cash in on Rhodes while he is still hot. Huddersfield will struggle if they do not get promoted this year. The owner has already sacked one manager and has made noises that both his patience and willingness to underwrite the club are wearing thin. We will see. EDIT: I agree with Tango .. Madine potentially is an international class footballer
Would we do a deal that included BWP going to them? They would have a proven scorer at that level and we would satisfy his career aspiration. Just a thought.
For you trivia buffs .. Jordan Rhodes shares a birthday (just the day and month, not the year) with Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldo shares a birthday, month, day and year with one of my sons who is not too shabby at football himself. Must be a blessed date.
Huddersfield could still end up in the championship and it has been confirmed by Jordan his main focus is getting Huddersfield into the championship following his father Andy. It also got confirmed by Lee Clark and Dean Hoyle (Huddersfield chairman) that 2million pound wouldn't buy his socks. There is alot of speculation and rumours to where Jordan is going, but his contract with Huddersfield doesn't run out until 2015.
I said we should pick him up when Ipswich released him. Shame Parky's scouts weren't up to much. He'd done well on loan at Brentford I think it was, and would surely have favoured us over Huddersfield as a young man living in the South East/East Anglia

Lee Clark has been sacked and Hoyle will be sorely tempted to sell if Huddersfield fail at the playoffs
how many goals has rhodes got as a div 1 player compared to bwp? so if bwp good enough to keep for new season why not rhodes as a signing that is if price is right
Yes Lee Clark got the sack, but Deano is a Town fan, and he has said his money is safe in Jordan staying at Huddersfield to help them with promotion. He renewed his contract in March, so who knows what the future holds for Jordy and Huddersfield.

Well my guess is the future holds Hudds having at least one more year in Div 1 and Rhodes leaving.
On balance I would rather have Sam Baldock. If he really would cost 750k to 1mil he is much better value. It would mean hoping that WHU get promoted which would not be easy!
EmmaK, I can see Jordy going if udders do not win. If he doesn't leave then it will be a big opportunity for someone with a load of talent to miss. As fo him signing for us? Don't know, I get the feeling that he may be scared to move south. If that is the case then he should have a chat with Dale Stephens. He took a chance and hasn't looked back. If he had a chat with Sir Chris, then I think it would be a formality, I also think he would be welcomed as one of our own if he did sign for us. However, he does have a lot of time left on his contract, but, he is also playing for a knob of a manager that doesn't know his best 11!
Rhodes is only 22 but seems a lot older, to my mind at any rate. He's plenty of time to work his way through the divisions. Perhaps a move to the championship and if he proves a success there, then potentially a move to the Premier. I just have a feel that he's Wednesday bound and it would not surprise me if Wednesday do a Norwich/Southampton next season

Sheff weds want him
Leeds have offered 4 players plus cash
Pity wendys went up as I'd love to nick Madine from them as I honestly think he'll be even better than Rhodes, given time..............
