Just driving back from Bournemouth with Nicholas and talking about this

My grandad was a Spurs fan but fortunately my dad ended that trend and went to Charlton with his mates

    The Spanners.
  • I really couldn't say - I hated football until I went to a match and saw Charlton beat West Ham 4-2. If I hadn't have gone, maybe I'd still hate football now.

If there was no Charlton then my local team would've been Millwall ... thank god CAFC was around when I was a kid!

Probably Arsenal as most of my uncles worked in the Woolwich Arsenal and followed them when they moved north of the river

Millwall as well. My great grandad and grandad were dockers, lived in Charlton (having been bombed out in Deptford) but were Millwall as were most dockers in that time. My first games as a spectator tot were at the den. 3.15 on saturday afternoons, after the battle cruisers chucked out.

All of my family are Millwall. Still are. It's only me who supports Charlton.

I got some stick after that game :(

My Granny worked at Woolwich Arsenal too. So I guess, I could have been a Gooner!

That's a bit like asking a gay man, "If you were straight would you be a tits or legs man?".

    No idea of knowing.

    Norwich - born there
    Lincoln - brought up there
Burnley - family conX and first match I ever went to (1970)
Plymouth - near where I live now
Palace - as near to where I lived when I was in London as the Valley was.

If I was gay I'd be a thighs man.

I'm probably going to be banned/shot for saying this, but, I was a Chelsea fan until I was 15. I had a season ticket pre-Abramovich but got bored of football and got into rugby. A mate took me to my first Charlton game against Middlesborough in the FA cup in 2006 (the leg before operation riverside!) Been hooked on Charlton since!

Funnily enough ever since I started supporting, we've finished lower and lower each season! Whilst since i've stopped supporting Chelsea, they've started winning trophies! :) (This season is the anomaly though!)
  • Can't honestly answer the question. If I'm honest I couldn't give a monkeys about any other club but Charlton Athletic.

Aberdeen, the old man came down from there and i don't think i would have been able to support another team if he chose nobody down south.
  • I supported Arsenal until I was about 11/12.

When I was old enough to go with my mates we went to palarse v Charlton and said I would support whoever won.

palarse won but Charlton rampaged through Norwood smashing up all the shops and so they were the team for me.

How shallow I was when young.

    My choice was:

    1) Charlton
    2) Charlton
    3) Charlton
    And so on............

Blimey. Seems like we had a close escape there ;0)

millwall - they would be my local club.
dagnham and rebridge - some of my family come from romford.
Arsenal - couple of my best friends when i was younger supported them. my brother supports spurs so that would help me lean more towards arsenal.
Liverpool - my mum used to support them.

    West Ham
  • I suppose anyone is the answer. I can thank/blame my parents. I was born in Charlton and have never considered an alternative. If I had been born in Scunthorpe, I expect I would have supported Scunny.

That's right - support your local team. Mind you, by rights that means I should support Welling...

Sunderland because of family origins or Arsenal because I was born in 1990 and I idolised Ian Wright when I was young

Leeds as my dad is a supporter. However, once I was old enough to know anything about the game, 4 years old, Charlton was always my choice and will be for the rest of my life.
