This season's is by far the worst home kit we've ever had. It wouldn't look out of place on a Sunday league team. WTF is that stick man doing on the shoulder? IF it were Nike, I'd go nuts. The Man United Nike shirts have been really smart.
However, with Adidas being the last big hitter to make our shirts, way back in 1987/88, I find it unlikely!
Seriously? I think the current kit is great and the best we've had in a long while. Would prefer to stick with Macron than have generic template company nike.
Must say, as far as looks go, I really like the current kit. Let's hope that whatever we go for, it's an original design just for us, rather than getting something from the 'pub team' range.........
The nike one on the left was worn by Man u 2 years ago and Sarfend have it this year!!! If true not a nike fan Adidas all day for me if a change is coming. I bought the Macron home shorts in June last year by August the black macron signs on the back had come off!!
We signed a four year deal in 2010. However, the deal was because Marcon supply the cheapest shirts to the club as they make most of their money on the merchandise sold to fans. Therefore, maybe if we are so flush we might ditch them to get a better label as the cost to the club isn't such a worry. But, whats the point? They supply a lot of other clubs so its not like our shirts are much worse than a lot of people. If the board is scrapping good money-saving deals then it is a sign that they are not as cost-concered as perhaps they should be. We are not out of the woods yet.
I don't get the idea that our current kit is made for us, look at Millwall & Sheff Utd its the same shirt in principal but with the clubs own style printed on it. Getting Nike in is a very good thing for us, the quality of their products, such as tracksuits, jackets, training gear and boots is second to none.
That Nike kit Man Utd had two years ago (with the black tick across the chest) was truly terrible, a thin, shiny, nasty, plastic/synthetic material that probably wouldn't last a dozen washes.
If we were to go for a big name I'd second the call for Umbro. The england red kit that was part cotton is great, I wear mine playing 5-a-side every week and it still looks like new.
As Bangkok Dave said, not only Nike and Adidas that do templates. For two seasons in the Premier League, our home kit, made by Le Coq Sportif was exactly the same as Birmingham's away kit, except for the sponsor and club badge. They all do it one way or another. Give me a Nike or Adidas any day of the week.

Not the ones making them
When it's on the OS as they say.

that would be perfect because nobody could moan that we had a standard template for our shirts.

But would prefer Adidas over Nike however.
