  • Now we know why we've signed Leon Clarke...

If only we had a song for big Yann, maybe he would stay??
  • dont need to sell, no need to take the money. Unless they owe silly money (more than 2 mil) we should say no.
  • If he does leave technically it will be decent business for us but it would be a huge loss if he does leave.

Hope this is just paper talk.
  • Blimey, tough to say no to 1 million quid for a player who cost you nothing only four months ago.

That's if its true, of course.
  • Yann is quality and so important to us and in his 30s I think I hope we don't feel the need to sell
  • I'd like us to turn it down if true, but a £1mill profit on a player we got for free that we've only had for a few months might be too good to turn down
  • May explain how we allededly offered 1m for Vardy?
  • Surely worth more money to us if he helps us get into the Championship.
  • What if he wants to go. Big break for him. Assuming it's true of course.
  • be gutted if he goes, he is our best forward by far in my opinion.

  • We so need to keep all our regular squad players to see this season through to promotion otherwise all the directors money they have put in would be a waste. One aim

One million for a 30 year old. Interesting.

Lennon and his cronies came down for the Huddersfield game to watch Rhodes, who was non existinct. They came away and thought that French bloke looked good for Charlton. Maybe we should keep an eye on him.

I would tell Celtic to double the offer and then we may consider it.
  • F off.

If he wants to go he can go in the summer, even if its for less money. Once the jobs done.
  • They say we signed him from Avignon in the article. In a way the fact they know so little about him makes me worry it might have substance. Unlikely to just pluck a random player out of thin air....
  • Plus he owes Powell at least until the end of the season for giving him his chance with us after the Leicester debacle
  • You'd have to be tempted looking at it with a business head.

Absolutely love the bloke but if you could get 7 figures for someone who was a punt on a free 4 months ago, and 30 as well. Don't forget noone has magic-ed away the debt or the liabilities, we are just speculating to accumulate, which this would be...

He may see it as a great career move and it probably is.

    ............................................................................................................

    Who am I kidding... f*** off c*ltic!
  • He was on loan at Avignon last season.

Celtic will have alot of cash to spend if they get £35m for Hooper...
  • From a money POV it makes sense.

Sell Kermogant for 1 million and we have brought in Clarke - scorer of 9 L1 goals - for free.

We also have Hayes as back-up too.

If I were in charge of the books I would be tempted to sell, don't forget we are still losing 2 million quid PA and only bought like we did in the summer because of the Jenkison sale.
  • This is complete and utter rubbish. No one in their right mind would pay 1 million for a 30 year old who has hardly been sensational at scoring goals in any league apart from league 1.
  • @ Large Addick

    Who is Vardy?

  • Jamie Vardy Fleetwood forward
  • @ISawLeaburnScore and they won't magically dissappear next year either, they just hopefully won't get any bigger.

I hope he stays, least of all because he's one of the players I'm most looking forward to seeing when I come home for a bit in March, but if it's not being dismissed out of hand on here you can bet it has got the board at least thinking.
  • I hope he does not go, great player

That's it go away Celtic you don't want him

Wasn't Lennon after Morro a few months back?
  • F~~k Off Celtic!!

If anything, He wouldn't want to play for that lot anyway. He's got a bit of class about him!!
  • quite annoying reading some of the comments about him on there, he'd perform in that shit league no doubt but hope he stays.
  • It sounds like complete bollocks. If true, it would be difficult for him to turn down - I mean a great club like Celtic - but there's not much much money in Scottish football and I doubt it would be that much of a ramp in wages ( over and above the option/extension that we'll offer him). Plus I expect that he's got to grips with life down ere and is looking forward to Championship football next year.

    ack nooo.

He wont go. if he does he will be inlisted as part of the Scotish national army. Celtic park, being of considrable importance in the Glasgow area, the English will no doubt try to take it during the indepedence wars of 2013. he will not last long. Ending his career and his life on the shores of the river clyde. In the background the city of glasgow is ablaze, turning the night sky charlton red. Distant shelling and screams fill young Yanns ears. He knows the English are winning.
Blood is pouring out of the several wounds the English army has inflicted upon him.
Neil Lennon had come to his side. "its ok yann....its not long now." Yanns life begins to ebb away. With the little strength he has he raises his head. He looks straight at Neil Lennons pink cheaks, ginger hair and tearful eyes. With his last gasp he shouts..."FRRRRRRREEEEEEEEDDDDDOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!!"
    His eyes close.
Neil Lennon looks up to the heavens.."WHY GOD?! HE WAS SUCH BEAUTIFUL MAN?! WHY COULDENT I JUST LET HIM STAY AT THE VALLEY?!!"

  • and thats why he wont go
  • show Yann that thread and he will see sense
