  • I think some of what he said is true, there is still a long way to go. However he is being an ass about it and in fact maybe even spurring on our players to prove him wrong.

Ps is it just me or did he only actually win a header when we got a corner? the rest of the time all he did was smash it long for lloyd sam
  • I don't give a monkeys about the interview to the Yaaarkshire Post. I also don't give a monkeys about the interview he gave about us when he joined Blackpool. He was a useless lump of shite when he played for us, I'm glad to be totally shot of him, and sincerely hope he plays an important part in Shuffled Wendy's run-in.

Miguel, Gracias por nada. Darle todo pero que eran mierda. Ahora vete a la mierda, cabron.
  • Does not bother me or anger me 1 bit by anything he has said.

We got the better deal by letting him go to a promotion rival where he will lose them points just like Walsall.

He really ain't got a clue and is complete pony
  • Rizzo, Jason Euell played pre-season friendlies even though he wasn't signed to the club.
And it was stated by the club that Euell was there only to give himself a full pre-season so that he was fit enough to sign on for any club that wanted him. So different circumstances.

Back to Llera, if he was training at the club with a view to signing, fair enough.

But ....there seems to be an implication in what Llera says that he had been brought to the club by Holloway in July - and yet their chairman stalled until August 1st before permitting his signing, presumably for financial reasons.

All of which left him well behind in match fitness terms, leaving him unable to break into the matchday squad.

I read into it that he felt unfairly treated.
  • We've won all our games by luck ?? Cannot wait until we start playing well then.
  • I suspect that its a mixture of sucking up to the Wednesday fans .. he is popular with them now and he does not want to lose that after his next few cock ups and a loss in translation. My recollection is that parkinson said that llerras english was not brilliant.

On the plus side when he has been at the Valley this season he has been very good with the fans, including after the JPT standing and chatting with them
  • To be fair he's right on one part, Jackson never really has scorer from free kicks for us.

I'm sure he took a fair few of them as well, Racon, Semedo, and Wagstaff certainly didn't take them, and Llers himself was the only defender that would occasionally shoot from one. Don't remember any of our strikers being free kick takers either.

Not sure why he thinks we take our only chance every game though. Just look at our goal difference, that comes by winning games by more than 1 goal.

Totally agree, fecker cost us a day out at wembley too, Bambi on ice springs to mind.
  • I think his comments are out of context. :oS
  • "they have one chance and they score and the opposition misses three or four chances"

I know what he means, it's almost like good finishing is treated like a part of the game when we play.

Funny you say that Llera cost us a day out at Wembley after he took out a player when Dailly was in a position where he could have covered.

If comments are in context I am dissapointed.

What is he supposed to say. Something also lost in the translation I think. If boot was on other foot we would expect to hear very similar. No big deal. Also what Len said.
  • I don't give a toss what he says, all I care about his us going up out of this tin pot league

The Petr Cech wannabee is part of our history like Jimmy Loveridge was in 85/6 - end of.

Llera was always an accident waiting to happen in that match and if i can remember rightly Dailly was immense that night.

  • Not blaming Dailly saying it was a yellow and bailey put his pen on the moon.

I think he has a point in relation to us taking chances. There have been a few games where we haven't done to much for 20 minutes or so at the start but you know that we will probably score from our first of second chance and we generally do. But the fact it happens so regularly, you know it isn't luck. Where I disagree is that opponents don't have bags of chances against us - I think the stats will show that we create more than opponents and it isn't just numbers but quality - we had the second best chance (afeter the goal) on Saturday for instance with BWP one on one.

I think we are a side that has a lot of quality. We have a strong defensive menatility and are not gung ho but we also have players who can score goals throughout the side which are key ingredients for success. You can't pick out a player and say he is no good- look at the threads about player of the year - we could make a case for most of the team.

But had Wednesday beat us and Llera gestured as Morrison did, we would be reating like they are too. I fully understand why Morrison did it and say good for him but I'm a Charlton fan. However, I won't let that fact cloud my judgement who I haven't a problem with at all. I'll save that for the few players I do have a problem with not ones that gave 100% for the shirt, whatever their weaknesses.

  • I agree with Leroy, even the Spanish bit.

He will be our best signing of the season if he keeps playing for them.

Nice fella but one of the worst players I have seen in my time in a Charlton shirt, his crossfield 200 yard passes into the flats behind the Jimmy Seed are now thankfully a distant memory.
  • I like to remember him for the Swindon goal when we were down to 9 men.

  • Well at least we have a song for him ' It's never my fault, why is everybody always picking on me '. Most of the time we make our judgements about footballers according to how we rate them on the pitch, THEN they start speaking. What utter bilge from Llera, we've had no injuries, but what about JJ who scored that so lucky goal ? Nothing to do with constant practise of course, it's almost as laughable as some of Llera's many clangers on the pitch. MK Dons let me go, Charlton didn't want me, Blackpool wouldn't play me, It's hell Miguel, but you deserve it so well.
Before the Wendies start laughing, wait until it all goes wrong for them. It will be ' its the manager he didn't recognise my talent, the fans were nasty to me when I cocked it up etc. Back to Spain for you son, there's an Ice Cream Van waiting for a talented driver.
  • Good bit of WUMing from El Burro. Not worth getting wound up about, footballers tell their own fans what they want to hear, and that's why we shouldn't pay too much heed when we read that Player X thinks Charlton is the bestest club in the world or that Player Y thinks we've got the best team outside of the Premiership. He did his best for us and never appeared to moan about being dropped, he was OK. Occasionally brilliant, often dreadful. He's not one of these ex players that goes to a rival where I think, "he'll be a great signing"
  • I think we were all hoping he would be starting for them which probably says all it needs to as usually you don't want to play against your old players for obvious reasons. But not a reason to dislike him!

and after his comments i just like to remember his Colchester performance and wish him that kind of success at Wednesday

  • Love this bit:

Llera said: “It is easy to explain. The chairman didn’t want to pay me for July. My deal started on August 1"

    Well d'uh!!
But Llera's point was ....... even though his contract didn't start officially until August 1st, he'd spent weeks pre-season training with the club, involved with everything - except he wasn't permitted to play friendly games (presumably as the club hadn't yet insured him?).

That meant he'd had no chance to establish himself in the 1st team, as he wasn't 'match fit' - and therefore the matchday squad evolved without him.

Getting match fit, isn't that what training is for?
  • funny the more jackson practices those free kicks, the luckier he gets...
  • To be fair there is a subtle difference between being fit and match fit.
  • Read the article and all that came to mind was...

    He ain't got a clue,
    He ain't got a clue,
    Miguel Llera,
    He ain't got a clue.

All his moaning about the board at Blackpool, let me tell you this for certain. If Holloway wanted him to be part of the squad and felt he'd be an integral part of the team he would have played pre-season. No doubt about that whatsoever. Deluded clown.

Just another player in the long list that includes Francis, McCormack, Benson, Akpo Sodje and Abbott that were no doubt "honest pro's" and "nice blokes" but the long and short is they were total pony. I can only pray that I never again have to try and get myself "excited" about new signings of that ilk.
  • Are Sheffield Wednesday not allowed to lose?

Their management, players and fans appear nearly as deluded as the Nigels.
