  • Kerm v Llera.
  • Kerm v Llera.
that match up makes me happy
  • but they will prob go with Baath and Jones at CB
  • Let's hope he plays on Sat.

Meanwhile, expect Blackpool forums circa 2020 to have a poster called "I-saw-Llera-play"
  • Is this one of the Massive signings they have lined up for January? Thought they were gonna spend big in the transfer window?

Must be, they're all saying he's excellent but only 3rd choice.

The posts on their board have to be a wind up, Llera is like Bambi on Ice, BWP will be licking his lips the thought of him marking him. If he was that good why have two clubs let him go in the space of four months?
  • Thought Llera was pretty decent tbf, not as bad as you lot are making out. Will need to keep an eye on him when they get a corner.
  • Llera was living nightmare, the opposition would exploit him week in week out

    Have we signed Sean now?

Llera was much better up front than in defence. I always thought we should just play him as a forward.
  • I liked Llera but he always has an error in him he'd have 4 or 5 good games he'd then have a mare which cost us a goal or two.

Decent in the air but always vulnerable to anyone with a bit of pace, if he plays on Saturday we know his weaknesses
  • Really can't believe how excited the wendys are getting over this.

Bit off topic (maybe a wendy who comes on here can answer) but what's the deal with Beevers? Always looked a decent prospect and big things were expected of him..................
  • For my sins I took a look at that owls' thread. There must be 50+ comments there, all of them think he's an excellent signing.
Not a single one of them stop to ask themselves why Charlton Athletic, the team they face on Saturday, got shot of him after two years, or whether at 32 he might be even slower than when we first signed him (and quickly dropped him).
  • Expect him to curl in a free kick if he plays on Saturday then! Wasn't as bad as everyone makes out, would much rather have played him in front of Doherty and Fortune, he just needed a more mobile partner to back him up.

This, plus he took the "slightly mental defender who's got a ridiculous free kick for a centre back" space in my heart formerly filled by El Karkouri.

  • always liked Llera

  • There is a difference between liking a player (for their attitude etc) and them actually being any good. Llera is a prime example of this i think.
  • Kerm v Llera.
    Llera won at Brentford imo.
  • Llera's main strength is in the air, so we'd be playing into their hands if we keep lumping the ball to Kermo on Saturday. What we need to do is get it on the floor and show him up for the immobile giraffe that he is.

  • colchester away

    that is all.

    Nice One
I blame bailey more than Llera for that one!

Me too bailey took one for the team and the cause.

I think Llerra will give Kerm a good game if we hoof it up as we have recently been doing with the exception with the Fulham game, but if we play it on the deck then he will be all over the place. Mind you if he is only third choice and does not play who knows.

Wonder what Blackpool saw in him.

Beevers is 4th choice behind Llera, Jones and Batth in the pecking order, he's a good defender but has suffered by being partnered by some real cack in his days at S6, he needed a Michael Johnson type of player at the side of him to bring him on, he's still good enough for the level above and time is on his side.

As for Llera he's started 3 games and we've not conceded a single goal, he's not Baresi or Maldini but he's a solid dependable player for this league, sometimes players fit at clubs like Morrison with you lot, maybe Llera will for us.

The key battle Saturday will be midfield Semedo & Lines v Jackson & Hollands

  • Llera was ok for us. Nothing special but nothing like as bad as people are making out. I liked him.
  • But owlsonineadmin...

(enjoy your posts, by the way, unlike that other bloke)

He's 32. We got him from MKD on a free. And he couldn't even hold down a regular place in the two years with us, and last year, we were not good, even when we were 2nd. Does it not bother you, that record?

Morrison is 23. He's got loads of room for improvement, and is showing it. Liera's best days are already behind him. Trouble is, his best days were not that good. If he'd spent most of his life at Champ level, I'd be more optimistic. But he hasn't.

Really hope he starts for you Sat.

You are right about the key battle, but one Liera mistake could be costly, they often are. As you surely saw at Walsall.
  • PS. I liked him too. I especially liked him when he scored for our 9 men to equalise against Swindon. And he has an eye for a sweet long pass. But that is not what he is mainly paid for, is it? As JT said, you can like a player but he still may not be that good.
