Murphy deserved all of it. His wife didn't but ......................
Beg to differ there matey. Think she probably deserved it more than him. Might be wrong but I heard that she was quite instrumental in getting him to leave as "lil ol Charlton" didn't fit her wag image.
Agree reading the press at the time i think it was more her than him we just weren't glitzy enough
He will be a great signing for them. He may not be as young as he used to be but he has a great delivery and will open up defences with his passing at this level.
I'm surprised a club like Reading or Saints didn't go in for him though.
To be honest, with the state that Blackburn are currently in, I'm surprised anyone wants to move there - especially from the Premier League.
I guess the only reason he has taken the move is so that he can be closer to his family.
Agree but Kevin Nolan done the same thing left NUFC for WHFC, maybe he wants a new challenge. I don't boo him can't see the point. Bet half the people on this thread slating him have all jumped when there misses said jump.

I resent that! For instance...oh, sorry got to go.
30k a week though - shows how tough it will be to get players in as sure we will not offer even a third of that to anyone. Well maybe Pirlo, the Italian Danny Murphy.
I was always resentful of Murphy's attitude toward us but,and I'm obviously alone in this, that changed at Fulham slightly. I was at the front down at the corner flag and when Murphy came over to take one he had a look of sad resignation on his face at the abuse he received. Five minutes later he split our defence with a ball for Dempsey to score. Cue running around with his hand cupped to his ear I thought;not a bit of it. He then proceeded to pull us apart in mid-field. At the end he walked off to more abuse and didn't react once,he was in a word, dignified in his exit. As I remember it,Duff was the twit that day.

Couldn't agree more. Thought the abuse was well over the top and didn't reflect well on us.

I was pointing to the fact that Blackburn as a club are in a complete mess, asides from the fact they are now in the Championship.
Nolan joined West Ham partly because Newcastle being run like a mess under Ashley at the time.
Murphy is currently on 5 Live and has come out with this
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy on Football Focus "I was not a big fan of deadline day as a player. It was all so rushed, it was so difficult to settle after you've changed clubs so quickly.
"I did not expect my move from Liverpool to Charlton. I would like to see it moved forward to the first day of the season."
Correct me if i'm wrong but he made his debut against Bolton on 14/8/04, so there was another 17 days before the end of the window.
Also he was quick to get out the door on Deadline Day at the end of the January window in 2006. Not a fan then!

My mate texted me the above. He also ended it with a couple of descriptive words beginning with F and C :-)
I was listening to this as I was driving home from work & Murphy made NO reference to his move TO us. Chappers mentioned that Murphy has moved TWICE on deadline day, and Murphy confirmed that was the Jan window from us to Spurs in 2006 and then from Spurs to Fulham the next season.
he then did go on to say about its hard being on your own, trying to find somewhere to live whilst your family (wife & kids) are living miles away - I take this to be when he originally move to us but he never mentioned us by name.
whilst I'm not a Murphy lover (I was when he was with us) I don't like to see/hear things being taken out of context.

I'm surprised a club like Reading or Saints didn't go in for him though.
They will need the extra midfielder to do his running for him, especially at 35.
Even played in the hole in 4-4-1-1, he'll have no pace so will need to be spoonfed.
Then all you need to do is cut off the supply.
Simple!
;o)
Robinson
Hanley
Givet
Dann
Olsson
Dunn
Formica
Lowe
Vukcevic
Petrovic
N'Zonzi
Pedersen
Goodwillie
now add Murphy
Obviously some of the above will leave but there's enough quality there if they can keep 2 or 3 to build a team around.
I guess the only reason he has taken the move is so that he can be closer to his family.
