I found it strangely irritating to be called 'cockerney' when visiting the Huddersfield and Wednesday forums. And I am from Surrey! With that in mind, I've no problem not calling Kermy anything he doesn't like. To his face.
He's probably a bit sensitive and understandably so - didn't he undergo a bit of piss taking after the penalty debacle? I'm happy to swerve using Kermit.

We can decide not to call him Kermit but it won't make a blind bit of different with the rest of our support that don't frequent this site. I just don't believe that Yann cares one way or the other and until it's on the OS that he doesn't !
Kermit doesn't sit well with me. He's french. Kermit is a frog. His mates also said he didn't like it.
Big Yann is what I'll call him. Although last night was calling him Kermy.
This whole thread is hilarious. Breton born, so arguably not even French. But some song incorporating the tune to La Marseillaise would ring out beautifully at the Valley.
When did Kermit say he didnt like his name Kermit.
read the thread, you may find out
kermit didnt say he didnt like being called kermit, someone claiming to be kermit's friend said kermit doesnt like being called kermit
Well we'll see if he is really is Kermo's (his nickname in France) friend because I've just sent him a long message in French.
I think it makes quite good sense that he doesn't like Kermit. The point is whether we care what he does or doesn't like. I don't think Andy Hunt much liked the song we attributed to him either.
Before making a decision on this I think one has to consider that we are talking about a foreign player. It's not the same as the 'banter' you might share with another Englishman (like Andy Hunt). We're talking about someone from a different culture and the humour doesn't transfer very well between English and French. I live in France and play for a football team here so I know what I'm talking about.
In my opinion it's best to call him Kermo and have a player who feels more comfortable. With 'Kermit' you might run the risk of him feeling like his own fans are somewhat taking the piss!
Besides with 'Kermo' we can sing 'Kermochameleon' which was suggested by someone on the other thread and which would make a great chant.

Like that one too.
I think we should just keep kermit to the forums/pubs and away from chants.

How about Kor me gunt? any good?
what about "that lanky, garlic munching surrender monkey"?
Just kidding by the way, think the guy has been great and worked his arse off for us.
"Hes big,
Hes Yann,
He is the fucking man,
Kermogant....Kermogant!"
What was he doing on a train?
Surely we pay him enough to buy a car.
My old man said where's Yan Kermogant
I said he's up there scoring with his head
Tune of "My Old Man's A Dustman"
Still one of my favourite footy songs, to that same tune
My old man said be a Millwall fan
I said F*** off, Bollocks, you're a C***
"He's better than cheese
He's better than cheeeeessssseeee
Yanny Kermorgant
He's better than cheese"
Prefer
Big Yann, Ker-mor-gant,
Big Yann, Ker-mor-gant,
Big Yann, Ker-mor-gant,
Big Yann Kermorgant.
Like that bit different!
Except maybe instead of 'no one picks him up in the area' - 'he's causing havoc in the area'?!
Yann is fine for me, if not Kermo.
Thanks for the info Large.
Yann it is.
So long as he's not offended by La Marseillaise then why not .....................
la la la la la la la la la la
Yanny Yanny Kermorgant
Simples
I call him 'that cheese eating surrender monkey'.
It's purely a term of endearment though.
It's time to light the lights
It's time to get things started
On kermorgant tonight
It's a work in progress...
