Dale Stephens

  • Stephens was quality at the start of the season and wonder if the typre of injury he had was progressive and affected his performance levels...a player who will cope comfortably at Champs level if we get there.
  • Say we go up, I would prefer to have Stephens than Pritchard at that level because he is just more experienced in league football.
  • Pritchard will keep his place rightly so for the next few games but i suspect Stephens will finish the season in CM with Pritchard becoming are main midfield sub to cover CM/RM.
  • Pritch works hard and tackles constantly but his distribution isn't anywhere near Dale's. Pritch is smart, you can see the quick mind and you can see that he spots the good ball, but sometimes his technique lets him down, and sometimes he goes for the easier ball. A little bit rash in the challenge sometimes as well but experience will prune that out of him. What a find he is; Dean Sinclair eat your heart out
  • Might be appearing against Margate tonight.
  • suspect he might get half an hour this weekend and then possibly back in the team for the midweek Bury game
I think there is a risk of us struggling on Saturday with a bit of an 'after the Lord Mayor's show' effect, which might be a reason to consider a change or two but CP would be on a hiding to nothing for changing a winning team, so I think he'll be prepared to go for early subs instead (even half time if necessary) and maybe make a couple of changes for Bury.
Cort needs some game time, but probably won't get it! Very odd to have the two centre-halves almost ever present.

Indeed, Salad. Usually your CB pairing has racked up sufficient yellow cards to warrant either or both being suspended by this time of the season

Yet the Mr Powell way has seen Charlton as one of the teams with the fewest cards this season.
