Was at the game sat next to me sat with missus and child, no boot on so hopefully he will be back in action and up to speed by the end of the month as above

What's his misses like?
Dreadful, should have scored against Wednesday earlier in the season!
Maybe he should go on loan for a month to get some match fitness, could be quite rusty after being out for so long?
We appear to have a pretty good fitness coach - look at JJ, he came straight back in however I know earlier than Stephens, but still I think he will be fine......at the moment though nice dilemma for SCP when he comes back with Pritchard in the team - and what about Russel (where was he against Fulham??)
Russel was with the squad but just didn't make the 18. Stephens will be back later on this month and it will give us brilliant options in midfield. You can tell by what Laurence Bloom has said in his interview on the OS how good our coaches are.
At the start of the season he was our best player along with Hollands. He always seems to have time on the ball and his movement and creativity is excellent.
It's going to get pretty crowded in central midfield (especially when JJ decides to drift in). SCP is going to have a big problem selecting a team, although it's a nice problem to have.
I don't think it's harsh, Pritchard is hard working and industrious - but not much more.
Different players, Pritchard can break at pace, gets up and down and beyond the strikers. Stephens can pick a pass, move the ball quickly without seeming to look up, not so good at closing down but can create shooting oportunities for himself. Hard to call who is a better player.
We miss Stephens more at home i would say - i think Pritchard is well suited to the sort of performance we're going to need to put in up at Hillsborough.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Russell filling in for Pritchard who may have to sit on the bench

Hollands has looked a better player with a holding type player alongside him (Hughes or Russell), so having Stephens back alongside Hollands may mean he hs to take a more defensive attitude. That said, with Pritchard and the other three already mentioned we have healthy competiion in this area, and all of them will be required to play their part in the run in from here. All of them have different atttributes, and if we get them all fit, we may see a little bit of rotation dependent on the game to be played, that up until now we haven't had the luxury to do. If Clark can step up to the plate up top, such flexibility could end up being the difference between us and our rivals at the top, as I don't see such flexibility and quality through their squads. Will be interesting to see.

Would personally start Stephens alongside Hollands if and when he gets fit. Plays more football and gets Jacko into the game more.
They narrowed the pitch this summer to suit Setpiece Wednesday's gameplan.
Here's a thread on it..
