We've had better players that hid more than Francis ever did. I wish him well, never the most gifted of footballers but that was direction we were going at the time. Thank god we're on the turn, but I won't relax until we're finally out of this division and hopefully signing the likes of Francis and Abbott is truly behind us.
Yes, well said. I was willing to give him a chance becuase he always showed - didn't deserve to be booed and happy to tell any moron who did it that to their face. I think he will become a better player than we saw but in all honesty - it isn't a problem to us though with the quality we have.
Yeah....good luck to the lad....he tried his best and never hid.
That last game he had at The Valley I actually felt very sorry for him....it was a nightmare wasn't it and you could see he was in despair as things slowly but surely became worse for him by the minute, everything he tried just went bandy.........poor lad!
I don't think he was that bad ,but he was inconsistant . Despite his lack of height Solly has claimed the Right Back slot now so Franny needs to move on.
not going to be two-faced here. Thought he was crap and said so often enough but never booed him. Must agree that he never hid and I believe he always tried his best when he played. Didn't work out for him here and I wish him all the best at Bournemouth.
All the very best to him. As others have said, 100% effort, just lacking the skill (with us) but I am sure he will come good at some time and for the right team. Hope that is with Bournemouth.
He rejected them in the summer didn't he? Wonder if they've offered him more money now or his just sick of not getting a look in.
I wish him well think he will come good somewhere, but for us he is one of the worst players I've seen play for us.
I'd like to think that isn't about money, but that he chose to stay at Charlton to fight for his place. In which case, credit to him.
Equally, it is perfectly sensible for him now to look at the way the team is flying, conclude that he isn't going to get a look in and so reverse his original rejection of the move.
Good luck to him.
And even better : if he plays for them like he played for us, that's another 3-0 spanking and three points for us when we go down there on March 3!
he has a family and teh original move would have involved a significant pay cut. At League One level - you can't be judgmental about players taking such a cut - would any of us do it given the choice. The fact is that Bounrmouth have some new money and were able to offer him something better.
Don't know how we're going to replace the crossing specialist. Good luck to him, seemed a decent enough bloke but the fact he played for us showed how low we had gone.
Shame it didn't work out here for him , he could have been the right back equivalent of Wiggins , good luck Simon.
How ?
Because he showed his class at places like Southend before he came to us. Some players just don't work at some clubs and I reckon that that's what happened here. I must say, whenever I saw Francis play (in the admittedly low number of away games ive been able to see in the last few years) he was the only one who I actually felt I could trust in the back 4, i'm not sure whether we just caught him on an, apparently rare, good day, or whether it shows the poor quality of our back 4 in recent years, possibly a mixture of the two, but either way, he did have some quality. But as others have said, I'm not mourning his passing, he clearly wasn't fitting in at the club/with the team and I'd take Solly over him any day of the week. Good luck to him and I hope he can achieve his true potential somewhere down the line.

I thought he made too many unforced errors but could also show glimpses of qulaity and as has been mentioned - he never hid. Now a manager might look at that and try to focus on the strengths and work on the weaknesses and as a result have a right back who could easily play Championship level. But no chance of that if the bloke is going to be put under the sort of pressure he was- being booed before he started a game
Anybody who thinks confidence doesn't play a massive part in football knows knothing about the game so why any Charlton fan would want to boo the lad and damage his confidence will always be beyond me. Fair enough not rating him but he was playing with fear as Curb it perfectly described. He had to leave as it wasn't going to happen, but I hope we have learned something from this too. When I say we- I mean a small minority. I'm glad he has gone because I think we need to sweep thses issues under the carpet and Farncis was always going to cause morale problems due to these ars**les. I hope he does well at Bournemouth and suspect he will. I pride myself in spotting a good player and despite his real and significant failings- I thnk there is one in him.
He might be a Kermorgant. Shite at Leicester and amazing here. Good luck to him though. There was a player in there somewhere... we just couldn't find it. Anyway, we got £1 million out of his cock-ups because they gave Jenkinson a chance. Always look on the bright side. =]

Undisclosed fee as well.

Did we pay them? :-)
Seriously I wish him good luck. Not the best player we've ever had by any means but an honest one who gave his best.
One Aim.

I wish him well.
We've done OK with right backs down the years (certainly in my 34 years), but it just didn't happen this time.
But I hope he can resurrect his career there.
Good luck to him!
That's harsh he seems quite a nice chap to me.
Didn't have his ugg boots on though.

Nice bloke, just a shame he was a bit rubbish. Good luck to him.
