anyone got any advice on how to speed up the game? when i start a new game im lucky if i have one star on the game speed section, is it my laptop or broadband connection? it takes 30 mins to play one match at times, very fustrating and have at the mo given up, i played last sat night for about 2hrs and was still playing the friendlys!
Try loading less leagues? other than that it will be the processor. My stepdad likes PC gaming and bought a super duper gaming computer processor and when i nick a go and play FM (can be quite rare tbh) mine is 5 stars for speed etc.
Certainly sounds like your laptop Adam, Won't be your broadband.
Maybe look at the size database you're running and amount of leagues. Lowering these will improve performance. Failing that, buy yourself a decent gaming desktop. ;-)
yeah thought it was the laptop, i was given it second hand, its a toshiba satalite with windows 7 ive deleted so many programmes to try and improve the speed, will give it another go this weekend, cheers guys.
Also worth looking at what programs are running in the background whilst you're playing. You'll be surprised how many can be on "auto start" that you don't need to be running all the time.
Do you know what processor and RAM your laptop has adam?
Now in the Premier league, any tips on players to sign to try stay there ?
Depending on the season but after a few seasons erick torres a mexican from chivas is an absoloute tank of a player and is like 20 also have a look at adam hlousek and ivelin popov and carlos fierro
I find it's usually best to burgle the teams that go down for their best players, provides you a bit of stability. If you get the best from teams like Bolton, West Brom, Blackburn etc you can steady the ship and start bringing in properly decent players after that
Premier League, FA Cup, European Cup, League Cup, European Super Cup, World Club Championship, Manager of the year and two players got World Player of the year and runner up.

anyone tried managing Barcalona B or Castilla? I know they cant get promoted to La Liga, just had a go since I like developing young talent and this is pretty much like being a development coach/reserve manager. Quite fun although its pretty tough when all your players are away on international duty for a league game. Also (obviously) the first team nick your best players when they come good.
Used to love these games when i was younger but got bored when they made them ultra realistic and required loads of attention to trainining schedules etc. Had 09/10 CM or the one before and won champions league with us just by signing 2 players from wimbledon. Bought FM 10 and thought it was great but found it too hard/ realistic and started off flying top of league one and won first 15 or so games in all comps then for no apparent reason couldnt win again for love nor money.
Used to enjoy it as a bit of escapism but found it frustratingly difficult/ realistic and it took the fun away.
Reading this thread is FM12 easier than FM 10 or is everyone just an expert at it lol?

The year is 2021.
Most of our squad improved, ratings done back in December though. Our back four at least will almost certainly be getting another boost for FM 2013...
Notts County have never had it so good with me in charge.
Need a new challenge any suggestions on who to be ?
