  • Looked very promising for the first 20 minutes. Poor to average from then on. Will need to be a lot more creative than that if we're to secure promotion.
  • Great goal from Wright-Phillips!
Stephens & Hollands offered no creativity at all and what was Hamer doing!!
  • dissapointed but the pressure is easing off of us as the expectation will be less.
  • Another point. On to the next game.

Have to say though, why did we persist with the long throw/deep crosses when they had a 6ft 7 centre half?
Exactly, Hayes didn't win a header!

  • Looked very average through out the whole game - struggled to get a foot on the ball - wednesday weren't much better overall fair result
  • Started really well, stephens missed the chance and they made the formation change.... we kinda went flat from then. Hitting long balls like we had a team of Drogba's was pointless and we really did struggle in the air defensively. Need a new striker for the bench 100%
  • Poor game, they came for a point and got it. We seemed devoid of ideas in the 2nd half except launch it long. Hayes and Stephens were particularly unimpressive. Clinton Morrison=Twat.
  • Not the best game thought Hamer was failed for their goal some good moves only if Stephens had scored in the first half.
  • Seen it countless times that a team has a giant c/back and the other team keeps pumping it into the box.

We didnt do enough to win the game, but they will be one of the better out fits at this level.

Wagstaff/Solly was the area we needed to use more.

  • Not good tonight, but I'm not too downhearted. If Stephens had buried that chance for 2-0 it was all over early doors. Oh well..

I'd like to see CP sort his bench out properly. There is no need for Hughes and Euell to be on there. Having Benson/loanee striker available to him is a must.

  • From a results perspective, I'll take draws against the likes of Wednesday, MK Dons (at a pinch) & Sheffield United as long as we consistently beat the Exeters, Rochdales, Burys and Colchesters of this league. Only 6 games in, 40 to go - so no point getting too carried away just yet.

Wednesday are a bit lacking in quality in my book, but the likes of Prutton, Semedo, Jones etc under a dour, clogger like Megson will always battle & make life hard if they are in the mood.

Yea agree with that. Euell doesn't add much for me
  • I thought Hollands, Stephens and JJ all had a pretty average game, saying that I thought Wednesday were better than the reports I've read so far this season
  • 40 games left. Strange old game. We didn't look great but can't remember hamer making a save.
Another day Stephens would bury his chance then were 2-0 at HT.
Don't think the bench was strong tonight and the atmosphere with 10 left was shocking.

Sums it up that north upper made more noise singing off Semedo's name than our own.

Still unbeaten and chance to change a thing or two Saturday.
  • Was expecting much from Stephens and Hollands.Hope it was an off day because not overly impressed.
Stephens always looking for 40 yard wonder passes and Hollands very lack lustre which was ok when we were 1-0 up but did'nt show much more urgency when they equalised.
If BWP got injured for any length of time i'd be worried.

    Still unbeaten though.

On that showing hes got a point!!
  • God, I'd hate to be a Wednesday fan. Megson is the death of football. We tore them apart in the first half but didn't create anywhere near enough in front of goal (and hang your head for that miss Dale Stephens) but the second half was dire. Semedo and Prutton started tripping our players every time we tried to work the ball in the middle and as a result we just started slinging it on long. Played right into their hands. Hamer was definitely fouled for their goal, what ref in their right mind thinks a keeper wouldn't raise his arms for a cross on the goal line? Hayes looked uninterested, Waggy wasn't used enough and we just ran out of ideas. Not an intelligent performance by the boys in the second half but the first half should give us hope. A target man in on loan is a must for the foreseeable though
  • Typical Sky performance from Charlton.

Best bit was seeing Curbs in the crowd!

  • Need to start getting wins at home, we sit back after scoring every home game.
  • 5 sub rule does my head in. With green being out ill we didn't have anyone who could come on and put wednesday on the back foot apart from maybe pritchard.

Benson should be on the bench.

Trying a lot of long balls when they had a beast of a centre back and also on a slippery surface was never going to work.

But at the end of the day it's a point against a team that will be up there and were still unbeaten

Im sure the lads will go out all guns against Exeter.

    Up the addicks
  • Played well first half and then after equalizer to that prick Morrison after we just kept thumping high balls into a 6'7" centre half who ate them up. Stephens should have got the second. Stephens seems quite tall but doesn't like a header either. Well I got to see Charlton on internet live though but after all the hype I have been reading it was a bit of a letdown.....

Good first half. Great goal from BWP. It was a shame that Stephens missed the chance on 17 mins as that may have crushed Sheff Weds confidence. Sheff Weds did not look like scoring from open play.

It was a bit grim in the Second Half.  Sheffield Weds muscled their way into the game and scored from a set piece. Clinton Morrison made a difference when he came on. Other than that I thought that Sheffield Wednesday looked limited. A horrible game to watch.

I was disappointed that Pritchard didn't come off the bench for Stephens as I thought the midfield needed a bit more energy. Wagstaff did ok in the first half but faded in the second. Bringing on Danny Green would have made a difference. Where was Danny Green ? Jason Euell came on too late and didn't make much of an impact for the time he was there. I thought Hayes was completely anonymous in the second half. Johnnie Jackson is not a pacey left winger. Some substitutions around 70 mins responding to Megson's tactics and the threat posed by Morrison may have helped.

Solly had a good game. Hamer was solid enough as was Wiggins.

If Charlton are to go up, they have to see to beat limited but physical teams like Sheff Wed. It was definitely a shame that Stephens missed that sitter in the first half. There was little threat from Charlton in the second half. Another goal scorer alongside BWP is required. A target man to complement BWP when Hayes is not cutting it. A bit like like the guy we signed from Darlington, but one that's ready. Maybe a decent loan striker . Michael Schulp from Leicester maybe.

At least we didn't lose, live on TV. Last year we would have lost this game. The curse of sky is not quite lifted. Rome was not built in a day, hopefully the team will play better than this and develop. CP will (need to) develop and improve with his substitutions as well.

  • Typical Megson team. Got amongst us in Midfield and Stephens disappeared. With him gone our tick over also went. Waggy non existent in second half and we struggled. Biggest disappointment was our bench. What was CP thinking.
  • Can't believe it. We gave them a footballing masterclass in the first half and BWP's goal was amazing. Hamer flapped at the corner for the goal and the way we responded to it was unnaceptable at home.whole midfield disappeared and so did hayes which is such a shame after the first half.

Also...singing opposition players names...don't do it.
  • We are crying out for another forward. We need something different from what is already here. Pace or Height.

We were very very poor second half.

Would have brought Pritchard on for Stephens who had a shocker.

Thought Hamer was fouled for their goal. All in all a crap performance and a crap atmosphere.

14,000 is a piss poor crowd as well.
  • Certainly need to get more urgency going in last ten-fifteen minutes, both with team and crowd.

If Benno is fit, he should be on the bench - said so before the start.
  • Prutton and their other CM bossed the midfield but we still created nearly all the chances.

Credit to Weds who stepped it up 2nd half, loaded the box and pressured us all over the pitch.

Oh, if only Stephens had taken that golden chance but there you go. Weds a good team who will be up there with us while we're still unbeaten.

14,041 was disappointing even for a TV game.

PS see you all the Slater meeting at Bromley Addicks Tuesday night
  • Who's that other CM you're referring to then, Henry?  Someone from Portugal?? Who's not as good as Bexley Dan? ;-)
