  • his birthday is the exact same as mine, he's 22.
  • looks very classy and what a well taken goal.
  • I was so happy when we signed him, glad his living up to my hopes.

    Long may it continue.

  • I dunno about Gerrard, thought he reminded more of a Carrick style player.
  • Absolute class. Creates time for himself even when it's not there. Best player we've had since the Premier League. Really liked the look of Hayes too, who had a touch of Teddy Sherringham about him.
  • Maybe I'm getting carried away but looks like a league 1 Gerrard, absolutely top class today. COYR

Early days but definite similarities. And we've got the League One Beckham waiting in the wings! With Hollands alongside we can see how much the last centre mid pairing held us back. Excellent debut; work to go with obvious class

  • Did anyone else see his first touch after a few seconds? Was pinged at him and he killed it dead. Knew we had a player from that moment. Probably the best first touch I've seen from a Charlton player for years....
  • Was singing the lads praises all game, and at 22 I think we're gonna have a very good player on our hands here.  Always giving other players an option, and looks like he has an eye for goal.

So, anyone still miss Racon? Hahaha
  • This lad is superb but I don't remember Oldham ever playing any decent football.
  • I think he is top drawer, but what was more impressive was that him and Holland never once got in eachothers way, they complimented eachother excellently and if it continues like that we will be a force to be reckoned with,

Dale Stephens will be buy of the season for any club if he continues to play like that, proper player,

I reckon he will set up atleast 15 to 20 goals , and score atleast 10

  • Didn't realise he was that young! Played like an old head, as did Hollands.

We may actually have a really solid midfield!

    At Last!!
  • But is he better than Bexley Dan?
How very dare you!  No one is better than Bexley Dan.
  • He looks good but would like to see him up against better opposition. Roll on Tuesday
  • Superb debut, everyone's already said it all.
  • And always thought his sister Rachael is a bit of alright too.........
  • I think we've just discovered our own Cesc Fabregas. Perhaps Barcelona will come in for Dale Stephens now.
  • If he keeps it up it'll be time for some sex wee...

  • In the programme he said the entry on Wikipedia is wrong, his birthday is actually in July. Not that it matters.

yeah in the programme it says july not december (which wiki says) is the month of his birth ,  then on thr next page it says his date of birth was in june !!
  • he was f**cking brilliant today very very impressed!!
  • Maybe I'm getting carried away but looks like a league 1 Gerrard, absolutely top class today. COYR

Ha! I've been saying the exact same thing! Sublime today, was very impressed!

  • He was like a Pulp album today, and I don't mean Freaks.
  • He's a player that reminded me of being a bit like me when I was younger..................I had that colour hair then!!! LOL

Absolutely stand-out player yesterday.....seems to have it all...he will get better....we've got a diamond here!!
  • Really enjoyed the game, and Stephens was excellent. Lovely little player, the type we have craved for a few years now!

As someone else has said i also thought Hayes was good today too, looks a proper forward.

Well done Powell, good work. Lets hope we continue like this.
  • Hollands marked Gregory out of the game...allowed Stephens space and time to use the ball which he used very effectively a pleasure to watch

    This!
  • According to the commentator on the Exeter highlights on the BBC site "Wright-Phillips cut the ball back for Dale Stephens to score his first goal since an opening day brace"

    We remember it Waggy!
