Who should be number 1?

Elliot or Sullivan?

  • Sullivan for me.  Passes the height test.  Looks commanding in his area and he is very vocal shouting his orders and also his encouragement.  Needs to practice his kicking though.
  • Sullivan
  • Have you all seen much of Sullivan? I havn't just wondered why we were dropping Elliott??

  • Very difficult to say given Sullivan has played only 4 games for us.

Not that fussed about distribution - Deano was average in this respect and was an unbelievable keeper. If Sullivan is better at long range shot stopping then he gets my vote.
  • Elliot, if he brushes up on aspects of his game he can become an outstanding keeper in this league.
  • I'm not too bothered either way, I think Sullivan looks a tad better, but the competition will be good.
  • Most keepers tend to look good when they have a solid defence in front of them, and they tend to look poor when the defence is weak. Elliot has had some blinding games for us, and has made a few mistakes, but also has had the misfortune to play behind the worst back four I can ever remember.

  • Who is tallest?
  • Even at Welling RE was still doing those crazy run-outs and not making it before the opponent.

Just like he did at Hartlepool away last season and numerous other occasions.

I wonder if he is improving ?

Sullivan has a lot to say about his area, and as I said before, I like this aspect of his game. He would be shouting at (former keeper) Matt Taylor, and this could make an important combination.
  • Ive noticed on Twitter that Mr. Elliot is very touchy about any criticism or any jokes about being no.1.
  • Elliot is the coming season's scapegoat I reckon judging by the general attitude on here!

Sullivan seems to command his area and boss his defenders which is good but we haven't really seen him as a shotstopper where Robbie can excel.

I'm just pleased we have what looks like two competent keepers at this level or better battling it out and will give which ever CP chooses my full backing.

Sullivan's games for us were also in front of an appalling back 4 though and he still looked more the part. Needs to work on his distribution a bit but then, Elliott tends to wait about half an hour before he distributes the ball so anything's an improvement on that.

You can only give the ball if someone can be arsed to run into position to receive it....

You could be right about Elliot being the scapegoat, but only if he is No. 1, otherwise he'll be bench-warming - unless you think people will slag him off for not doing that right!

As regards the original question, I haven't seen enough of Sullivan to make a judgement - Powell and Roberts will. no doubt, be making a decision based on what they see in training. We'll have to trust them.
  • Was that Conor Gough warming up with Pope @ Welling?
  • If you mean the shirt number then Robbie.

If you mean first pick in goal then the guy who's signing  when we get back from Spain.

Not sure we should put a centre back in goal!
  • Harper is number 7!

does he like criticism of his bulging waistline ?

He put on half a stone when he was injured ... and that was just in the first few weeks

  • sullivan prefers 13.  i don't think that would reflect who starts in goal.
