Seems to me that a deal has been done with DandR but we still haven't had a chance to speak to him?
Can anyone update me?
NLA said it was a done deal and will be announced sometime soon. I haven't seen it but it seems as if he has sources that have been right in the past, so we're trusting him.
Its all well and good saying that D and R contacts have said its done and dusted, but if another club come in this week, they could persuade Danny to reconsider!?

I have been told by a good source from within the club that Green & Stevens signed for us last Thursday evening and both the deals are done & dusted, I have no idea why its not on the OS yet, however I was at the Valley when told friday lunch time so I assumed it would be out there by now.
I tell you who is a very underrated centre half in the lower leagues - Ian goodison. Shame he's so old now (38?), he'd have been a good shout 3 years or so ago.

Rumoured to be interesting us - and he's born in 82 I according to his Wiki

Our comms team have been on a stag do all weekend.
I really hope you're right about both signing though
Rumours were that dailly was asked toi take a pay cut, on top of the cut he took last summer and he refused, subsequent to that CP has said that he would like to keep Dailly so I assume that they are still in talks.
Should be a lot clearer next week, with pre season training starting
I will be very happy if this signing comes off, i have wanted us to sign him for a couple of seasons now. In my opinion he is much better than Waggy, the main reason being he can put in a great cross and he does it consistently, he also seems to know the best time to put his cross in rather than the wingers we have had in the past who stand there doing stepovers and not achieving anything. He also has a great shot on him and it's always nice to see a long throw specialist in the side as well as a good free kick taker, it will be a key signing for us come the end of the season.
I don't know how old you are covered end junior, but I like a lot of your contributions to this site. I agree 100% with the above statement. As for Wagstaff, I think he will be used as an impact player from the bench this year if Green's signing comes off.
I guess if we do sign Green , this will considered to a part of our intent , i'm trying to not get to excited until its on the O/s as i don't want to to believe something , and then it falls flat for whatever reason.
Someone i spoke to recently, when i asked them whether they thought we should sign them, said they thought he was a bit slow , and wouldn't add a lot of pace to the side , is this a genuine concern shared amongst supporters?
Personally if he can cross a ball like Beckham , and stick home the odd freekick then i'll be happy!
Well according to his FM ratings, his strengths are his crossing and vision, not his pace. Very different type of player to Waggy which should give us good options.
I know it's only FM but the Dagenham researcher was spot on with Benson's strengths and weaknesses. He also rates Vincelot as their best player right now.

d_bent25 MUST be the gendarme from 'Allo 'Allo ....
Very hard to say Steve.
But you can bet whatever he might have been will instantly turn to cack the moment he pulls on that red jersey. ;-)

It's not always about pace - although that invariably adds something extra to a player's game.
