So I guess he has signed a deal. Only a youngster hopefully we can develop him into something good
  • Where's Scoham or WSS when you need them?

I see he had a trial at QPR.

  • Nice. Our Fabregas.
  • It's looks as if the new board brought him in a few months back. Probs the dealings of Jiminez
  • Is that Macron white shirt he's wearing going to be next season's away strip?
  • He's a centre midfielder, was very lightweight when I saw him at the beginning of the year but Powell was hoping to bulk him up a bit during preseason.

All the players I've spoken to are really impressed with him and liken him to Fabregas.
  • I think it's last season's training top Oggy.

  • See all the people he is tweeting with too, Popo, Jenkinson, Connor Morris, retweeting Elliot about Fortune, looks like this kid has been here a while now.

Why have we not really heard of him being at The Valley ?
  • Perhaps he's the "A. Triallist" that plays every reserve game .....?
  • How comes he doesn't have his own wiki page?

If what Plaaayer says is true and he is good on the ball hopefully in a season or two he can develop into the creative playmaker we desperatley need. No pressure then ;-)
  • How dare you doubt me :)

He has played in quite a few reserve games, gets on very well with Semedo, Bessone and Llera who have helped him settle in. Has been training with Charlton since the beginning of the year.
  • will be sad to see big joe go though!good luck for the future joe!
  • If he was the new Fabregas he wouldnt be signing for us.
  • Oi misery guts! :0)

I take it they meant he was a Fabregas type of player rather than he is the new Fabregas.

I think he'd had a trial with a few clubs as well but was let go because of his size. I can't remember whether it was Peacock or Powell that said if the club manage to bulk him up then we've really got a player on our hands. Maybe even the new Fabregas ;0)

Looked very good in the 5 a-side at training, great 1st touch and very good vision.
  • I saw that on Twitter gilbert and thought it was a wind up but it does look legit in fairness.

Let's hope Bessone signs then because I doubt his other Spanish speaking team-mates will be here although it looks like his English is very good. I'm not a twitterer but was he twittering Fabregas in amongst all those tweets ?

  • Ruben Bover-Izqievdo. Came over with his parents to finish his studies and play for Kiddiminster Harriers. Got injured and ended up playing for Halesowen Town. Somehow spotted by QPR and invited for a trial, ended up with us.

    Your point is......?

Footballers can be spotted from anywhere, look at Ian Wrights career, or half of the Brazilian squad

I once spotted a footballer at The Valley, mind you it was a while ago now.

    Twitter post on 7 May:

    "FIRMADO"

For the benefit of non-Spanish-speakers that means "signed". So he's either been watching the early morning documentaries adapted for the hearing-impaired or he's got a contract with us.

He's also now back home on Mallorca until the 30 June and has been training and travelling with the squad for a while.

Bugger me - did he play for the Harriers? I Shall do some digging and try to find out if he was any good.
  • Ruben Bover's been around a while. He even joined in the lap of 'honour' after Hartlepool.

They loved him at Halesowen Town and thought he was somthing special.

Played mainly on the wing for them, I believe.
  • Ruben Bover is very highly rated by the players who have seen him in action, they really rate him
  • He sounds Decent, Reminds me of Daniel Aquino In some ways, Could be a great prospect, But will we ever see him in a Charlton Shirt? or is it one of them situation where we sign him never play him, and then ends up becoming a good player playing in LIGA BBVA or something
  • Has not only been training with us, but specifically with the first team squad.  Great technique, apparently - or am I showing my age by not calling it tekkers?
