Agree - when he was fit he was a 'handful' and, I think, could've made a huge difference to the season if he and BWP had forged a great partnership. Having said that I think letting him go is the right thing to do. Good luck Joe for the future.
As Powell said, big and strong, had an impact when he played and BWP liked playing alongside him.
Thought we might have kept him considering his rumoured wages were under £1k pw but there you go, can you build a team around a player with such a injury record?
I think that was a bit of the undoing of last season, when he played, we looked a really good side, the ball stuck up front, and he caused defenders no ends of problem, he'll hit form, and then get injured, we struggled to get the shape with Abbott, Sodje or Benson in that role.
If he didn't have the injury record he'll be a Championship regular
Probably the right result, his injury record this season and for the last few suggests that he'd be a gamble that might pay off if you can get a couple of dozen games out of him.

Agree, someone will take a punt on him and get 40 games out of him knowing our luck but not a risk worth taking IF there are other strikers coming in.
Agree with Rothko shame to see him go but just too many injuries... I'm sure he'll do well for another club, albeit in fits and starts... good luck joe always gave it 100%
Thought Anyinsah might stay and was a good player when fit but I'm taking it as a positive sign that he's gone, as we must have someone better lined up to come in.
Powell is too hold talks with Semedo and Racon last they are the 2 players that Powell want's to re-sign. Everyone else out of contact are pretty much free to leave, also we are looking to offload 2 players with contracts, the talks will be ongoing all this week.

Well if right AddickRam I hope we have some decent signings lined up....I dont think we can wait too long before getting new players in!!
I am sure we would have spoken to both Racon and Semedo by now and made them an offer.
probably have but if we want them to stay the first offer may have simply been a starting point and they may sign for more money after talks, but like everyone else I am simply guessing

Am i the only person who doest want to see Racon stay ? He cant play alongside Semedo in central midfield and he's not a winger either.
no, I'm quite happy to see Racon go. Only started performing in the last ten games when he was playing for a new contract or trying to impress suitors. Midfield needs a re-vamp. At this rate we'd be keeping everyone and then wondering why it's all gone wrong again next season.
I know where you're coming from Large but I can only think Powell thinks that Racon improved due to his (Powell's) coaching but I guess we'll only know which is true if Racon stays at the Club.

I still think 90% our problems last season were defensive. Racon is without doubt in my mind one of the few decent players we have and should be kept if possible. Can't guarantee him a start that should inspire him to continue his good form.

He's the one who scored.

Good luck to him.
Agree when he played he added an extra dimension, just a shame it was so infrequent.
Also I do wonder whether the delay is partly as they hope to tie up a few incomings before revealing those they let go and those who chose to go.

Slowly but surely the news is trickling out.
