  • Why on earth would we want to go back there ? He may have been promising once upon a time, but I don’t understand how anyone can forgive a man who bled this club dry, had his contract terminated (with a nice pay out no doubt) and then hasn’t been able to get a club since.
  • [cite]Posted By: Athletico Charlton[/cite]Personally I would sign him on a 5 year pay as you play contract then never play him.

    I'll second that.

    And that.
  • How exactly did he bleed the club dry ? The club gave him a contract at X amout of dosh. He was being chased by Barcelona, Milan, Everton & Villa but chose Charlton as he thought there was more chance of 1st team footballer .............oh & he was France U21 captain, so he obviously had something to offer.

The word is that he had a bust up with Harry Arter, this happens all the time in football & is normally forgotten about the next day but pardew & parkinson decided to hang him out to dry & refused to play him even when resorting to crainie, butterthing etc. If his crime was so heinous why wasn't he sacked for breach of conduct or the police called for assault? If he had this attitude problem & as has been mentioned before didn't get on with anybody at the club then why has he been watching games & given access to the Millenium lounge ? He was given a payoff to get his wages off of the bill. If his contract was terminated for any other reason why didn't it happen 3 years ago when the alleged incident took place. I don't know the full ins & outs of what happened & very much doubt that anybody else on here does (OK with the exception of club employees) but from what I do know I think he was treated appallingly. I remember he was brought back into the team for the Norwich cup game played brilliantly & was never seen again. Still with francis lurking in the background why should we worry about the right back position ?
  • The fact that Mark Kinsella called him a disgrace says about all I need to know.
  • So, charltonbob, you admit that you "don't know the full ins and outs of what happened", but you still think you know that he was treated "appallingly".

    Have I got that right?
  • From his wiki page: On 12 January 2011, it was announced that Yassin was on trial with Oldham Athletic FC - if he was willing to trial with Oldham his demands must have plummeted.

Especialy as Oldham haven't paid their players recently, allegedly.
  • He couldn't be bothered in training, when he played in the games against the younger lads he just walked around the pitch not bothering to get involved. One game (Bristol City was it) he lost the ball after coming on as a sub and just stood there then decided to have a little walk back. I've never seen a player so disinterested in playing for a team.

He wasn't interested in playing for us then when he was earning a fair old wedge so we should tell him where to go!
  • I'm pretty sure CP would have a better knowledge of what actually occured than any of us. In fact he was probably PFA chairman at the time. If Mootoo has returned with CP's blessing, then I'm prepared to back his judgement.
When he first joined the club, most observers were raving about him and at that time we were near the top of the championship. If his disciplinary problems are behind him, I'd back Powell to get the best out of him and create a very valuable asset for the club.

We're not even sure it was him let alone that it was with CPs blessing.

    I did say IF

It was definately him. My mate (that I sit next to) speaks fluent French and used to talk to him quite a bit when he was 'resting'. Didn't get a chance to speak to him on Saturday though. Last time my mate spoke to him he simply said that Parkinson wouldn't even talk to him! - not exactly good man-management. Anyway on Saturday he only appeared to be there as a spectator - but who knows. He's been at the last 2-3 home games. If we get a chance next we'll ask him what he's doing - as if he'd tell us....

    He's just signed

    on
  • Mate of Racon's perhaps?
  • The best right back to play for us since Johnny H, and I haven't forgotten Luke Young. Poor management decisions, as with Varney, Dickson, Arter, Mcleod, Basey and others who are hated because people supported the manager without knowing the facts.
  • One thing that people always say about Parky, even when slagging his ability of is that he's a'nice bloke' And yet peopel are prepared to think the worst of him over this incedent.

Maybe have a little faith that what was done was done in accordance with what was for the best of ALL concerned and that Yassin was given the opportunity to turn it around.

And that he was there Saturday because he had a free day so went to watch some mates play football.

PS I saw Yaddo Mambo on the train and was surpied that no-one else recongised him.

Quote from DRF -PS I saw Yaddo Mambo on the train and was surpied that no-one else recongised him.

On the basis of this thread then he must be about to get a job for network southeast.

People do know the facts though and those people are the ones that don't want him!

I can't tell if that is a joke or not. Either way, it's very funny.

I'd have Greg Shields, Danny Mills, Steve Bown or Steve Gritt over him any day of the week - let alone Luke Young and Ruben Agboola.

  • And Gary Poole and Matt Jackson come to think of it. In fact I'd rather have me playing at right back than him.

You forgot my old mum Offy, and she's a left footer (not catholic).

Careful now: admin will be after you if you mention "mum" on this thread... ;-)
  • Kinsella said Moots was an absolute disgrace & was a very bad influence on the other French speaking players, which was not good for team spirit at that time.
  • [quote][cite]Posted By: Covered End[/cite]Kinsella said Moots was an absolute disgrace & was a very bad influence on the other French speaking players, which was not good for team spirit at that time.[/quote]

There was a squad split at this time, young vs old so MK is possibly not an impartial source.
  • Perhaps, he was after the same MUM as Pardew!
  • Harry Arter is all I'm saying!
  • Anybody who would seriously suggest we get this man back after it took so long to get rid of him (and cost so much) is a complete moron.

Potential ability is one thing, but team spirit, attitude and application should trump it every time in the importance stakes. It's a team game after all.

Why is he at games if they aren't thinking of it though?

why isn't he playing for someone else if he is good?

could be loads of reasons why he was at the game.
