•
[cite]Posted By: oohaahmortimer[/cite]ok so it's a blind eye to the way solly lost his yard start and got outmuscled off the ball so easily at the end of the game

aaaah i forgot from our youth team so they can do no wrong
bit harsh mate as Solly showed more in 10 mins , than Francis has shown all season, prior to this mistake he had
jockeyed the attacker on at least 3 occasions in 10 mins winning the ball strongly and cleanly on each occasion. He also played a couple of nice balls inside their defense to BWP. He is without doubt the best right back at the club and that includes Jenkinson.
• not that convinced by him yet NSS and one of the resons for that was the ease with which he was moved off the ball
not sure who our best right back is yet atm admittedly francis in last place but that's because he's been playing more !

Negatives from yesterday:
- Worner's distribution was terrible. When he did manage to keep it on the pitch, he aimed long balls at BWP (1.73m) not Nouble (1.9m).
Agree with Worner's distribution, how tall is all that in english:-)
• In English I believe 1.9 is taller / longer / wider / bigger / greater than 1.73

As it is in most languages
• just for good order

0% play offs and 100% the shame of 3rd tier football again 0% relegation

cannot believe it parky knew these players and had them performing near their peaks where as since he's gone SCP has failed to get that out of them ..... gutted
i called it so wrong thought we were certs for a play off place ...... i am human after all
• it was an improvement - but only just!

we are guranteed to make atleast 1 monumentall mistake which at tyhe moment alwasy means a goal for the oppo - they dont even need to try and play us just close down and wait for the mistakes to happen.

Fry was awful and shows that an out of position jenkinson is twice the player, next week jenko back at LB and solley at RB, Llera played well, dailey was awful. Really starting to think that semedo is the problem, numorous hospital balls from him once again, McOxo well the least said the better - why wasnt parret playing? Racon looks great until he needs to make a decision or gets anywhere near the box, Nouble and BWp - looked like they would work for the first 20 min, bigman/little man trype of thing - but when had op to send each other through they never did.

God we miss jacko!!

To be fair to nouble and BWP...they had never even trained together and so it will take them a while to get an understanding together.
• The game plan was flawed from the start - no width on the left, two holding central midfielders and two big boys up front. So the only chance of a cross was from the right, and the front two played with their backs to goal 90% of the game. Predictable and easily contained. The only real threat was from Llera at Set Plays.

Off the ball, we stood off 10 yards again in midfield and admired their passing. Either we have defensive midfielders whose job is to win the ball and pass it to the attacking players, or we dont bother. Winning the ball and passing it backwards is a waste of time.

I'd love to know how many coaches were involved and how long it took them to come up with that game plan. We haven't been set up properly since and including the Peterboro game. But then again, we have two inexperienced coaches at no.1 & no.2, who have never been in this position before, so I suppose it is to be expected. Is Peacock not involved?

Considering we were playing an average mid-table team, with average players, some of our players clearly aren't capable of performing at this level or suitable for League One football. It won't change until the summer transfer window. The league table doesn't lie.
• Just watched the highlights again, mostly to remind myself of what actually happened.
I think we played alright. Not fantastic. But not the worst I've seen this season by a long shot.
Jenks made some nice runs/link ups with Waggy. More encouragingly Solly is back. I think Solly and Waggy are a fantastic combo. Remember the O's away game? They made that win. I think Solly can bring Waggy back in form.
Racon had 2 good shots, one saved by their demon keeper (hate that guy) but on any other day it would've been a goal.
I think McOxo really, really needs to be dropped. Even watching the highlights back on player you see him lose 2 balls with absolutely no excuse. Get rid of him for the next game put in either Parret or Eccleston. Or even Cousins. Just not him, ever again.
Next game at D&R, provided we play Solly and McOxo is left at home, I think we will win.

I agree, second half we looked a lot less calm when they attacked
• Here we go........

Personally, I cannot believe Solly came on for jenks and not Francis. Yes, he's made the odd sh*t pass recently (not exactly alone is he) but he's our best crosser, in particular on the run, he's over six foot and quite quick. Every time I've seen Solly play, yes he is "Charlton", but he's tiny, so vulnerable to the long ball/diagonal cross, hasn't shown any inkling that he is an attacking threat as a full back (his goal against Orient came when he was on as a sub in midfield), and is surprisingly slow for a young player (Weston isnt exactly Usain Bolt but ate up the ground on him).

I'm not saying Francis is the long term saviour of our team and maybe he does need a break at the moment as his confidence must be shot, which given the stuff I hear shouted at him from the West stand I'm not surprised. But I still think he should be in the team ahead of Solly, at least for now.
• Jenkinson looks a better player then Solly, the question is where is Jenkinson going to end up? CH or RB?
• I don't think we would have won that match 9 times out of 10 - most other teams would have won it 9 times out of 10 but when you look at the chances we had - we miss them far often than score them. I've lost count of the number of good shooting opportunities we need to score a goal - most teams might make 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 of them - I think we are 1 in 20. Look at highlights of other games- see teams scoring with the sort of chances we balloon over the bar or scuff wide every week - when did we last score from a decent shot - I'm racking my brains! Players like Semedo- we know he can't shoot for tofee - but Racon demonstrated in seasons past that he had a decent shot - Reid has shown he has a good one and Jackson in the past for other teams- why are our selective shooting boots so poor - it removes a serious goal scoring option from our game!
• i think i once called racon a french tart!! anyway what i would give for a garry nelson john robinson scott parker type player!!!! oh wait he was on the bench!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DEAN PARRETT would help to safe us.
ok it was for spurs youth team but my mate watched him player alot and says he is to good to play for charlton should been in at least championship level! he asid he runs and runs and runs makes good tackles good passes and takes good set pieces so why the f***k didnt he start sat!

Apparently Powell wanted him on the bench so he could see how play. He was last seen driving off at speed away from The Valley!
• yes, I think he will play on Saturday -my fear is that so will McCormack who must have something on Chrissy!
• Could it be that SCP felt he couldn't afford to have BOTH recently arrived players on the pitch together ?

He was pretty much forced into playing Nouble up front with Benno suuspended ....

Feel sure we'll see Dean on the pitch at Dagenham as opposed to on the perch, oops, bench.
• That's probably exactly what he thought and injuries in the game resticted his substitution options.
