  • [cite]Posted By: Leroy Ambrose[/cite]Southern Spain (Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba). Absolutely beautiful, dirt cheap, loads of stuff to see and do and just before the weather ramps up to double spiteful. You won't regret it.

Yours sincerely, the Spanish tourist board :)

I went to Seville on Leroy's recommendation a couple of years ago, it truly is a wonderful place especially if you are taking a girl, highly recommended.
  • Venice is great. Very romantic in May wafting around on the water taxi's. (In the summer it gets smelly.)
Rome is a good shout. Sparrow is right. 5 days is enough as you get over-cultured.
Agadir in Morocco is warm at that time of year.

A week is a long time in just one city. So, how about...

Fly to Barcelona. Four days, cultural capital of Spain, great city, great food, on the coast, lots to do. Then, get the bullet train to Madrid and spend three days there, more great food, excelllent, metropolitan buzz. Then fly back from Madrid.
  • Eastbourne is always nice especially on the pier !

I am glad I wasn't the only 1 wanting to say arse

Cowards the lot of you where's carter when you need him
  • If you're thinking of Turkey then I'd definitely recommend Kalkan. little fishing village with exceptional hotels and very good restaurants. Lots to do and not many kids so a great place for couples
  • I like Majorca at that time of year, try Cala D'Or on the east coast, very pretty Town centre, nice Harbour and bays, plenty of Restaurants, and some lovely walks.
  • I would echo the Lisbon option, really great city and its environs have enough for everyone - hire a motorbike or car though the public transport is great.
The two stop trip via Madrid would be interesting.
There is a rubbish hotel you should visit.

  • How about Sorrento. All set up for a nice relax on the beach for her and a few trips that would have a bit more cultural interest for you, Vesuveus, Ercelano, Capri, Amalfi Coast, Grotto Esmerelda and particularly Pompei. Lots of hotels offer a decent half board which can be excellent, particularly if you like fish.
  • what sort of budget we looking at ?

  • "It's for her birthday" and she likes sun, sea and pool - so forget all the city breaks suggestions chaps. Wasting your time with that, unless you are trying to facilitate a split. If that's her Criteria ISPP then any holiday resort will fit the bill. I still think Albufeira meself... ;-)
  • if only there was a decent bar where they could watch the play offs....
  • How did you get to Granada and Cordoba?
