[cite]Posted By: mart77[/cite]A bit left field but there's a rumour going round non league circles that we're going to sign Crawley striker Matthew Tubbs. Probably rubbish but just thought I'd put it out there.
Have seen Tubbs play 5 or 6 times this season and is def a fox in the box type,and is def very good at it in the conference, but not sure if the step up may be a bit much

Steve Morrison is a good example of someone who made the step up from non league. But with our track record of signing players from those clubs... :0 (
We got 6 strikers, we don't need anymore! Surely we won't sign another. Let's concentrate on a couple of full backs / a centre back and a creative midfielder.
oow i live near crawley i'll get his bags packed! lol but i dont think they would sell there best striker anyway they are the man city of the non-league LOUDS OF MONEY
I think a couple more signings and we should be ok. We really need a new creative centre midfielder and new right back imo (as well as extending frys loan until the end of the season)
Did anyone read the Reserves Match Report vs Spurs on the OS? Says that 4 triallists played - it specifically mentions Tom Williams, Bristol City defender recently on loan at Colchester and ex-Worthing striker Ben Williamson who has been recommended by the Glenn Hoddle Academy but does not name the other two either in the article or the team line up at the bottom. Which of the following should I read into this?
a) the other two triallists were so obscure and so far down the food chain of triallists tat it just wasn't worth naming them;
b) the other two triallists are megastars. We were analysing their fitness but need to keep their names under wraps to avoid being outbid for them by Barcelona or Real Madrid;
c) the OS has a strict policy of only naming triallists whose surname contains the name William.

Crawley also have Richard Brodie, who allegedly nearly came our way last summer, and after paying £275k sits most of his time on the bench as Tubbs keeps him out
[cite]Posted By: Richard J[/cite]Matt Hill who was mentioned above has signed for Barnsley .
According to Wiki Tom Williams was only on a short term deal at Bristol and has spent most of the last three months at Colchester .
He is a Left Back so would tick the box as one of the two defenders we need to bolster the squad. Does anyone know anything about him?
Only that he was christened either Tom or Thomas and was born to to Mr and Mrs Williams
:-)
We don't even know that much. Wasn't necessarily Christened, may have only been called Tom since the gender reassignment operation, may have changed his surname to "Williams" by deed poll due to his embarrassment at the surname he was born with, Hitler for example.
I just love Football Rumours , who from here posted this :
26 Jan 2011 12:16:18 my sister's boyfriend works at the valley and just got word that kaka is on his way to charlton on a 6month loan to get match fitness with charlton only having to pay 5% of his wages

He could be anyone.
So we've now got to the possibility of someone who used to be called Margaret Hitler trialling for us

Tom Williams-yer, course you are mate.
A Charlton Life badge to the person who gets "Margaret Hitler has passed a medical and is on the verge of signing for Charlton" published on the Football Rumours website. Shouldn't be too difficult - far more believable than this Kaka nonsense!

Lol
Along the lines of "I have an Austrian grandparent who does a bit of part time scouting work for Rapid Vienna. Was on the phone to him yesterday and he told me that M Hitler has passed a medical etc".

Hahaha! I like it Macronate! Unfortunately you're too late as whilst you were typing out that brilliant idea I was already in the process of informing Football Rumours that Honduran International Margaret Hitler took her medical at Sparrows Lane this morning. In the unlikely event that they decide to post it I shall be delighted to put the link in here, should probably pretend to do some work for a few minutes first though.

People sometimes forget how long this process takes.

it's a hoax
Altogether now - "There's only one Maggie Hitler, one Maggie Hitler, walking in a Hitler wonderland!"
Brilliant
See another one on there about Ronaldo signing for Stevenage
It's too easy. Think I'll have to get to work on the Palace and Millwall pages this weekend. ; - )
Both play for the Foxes, calling in a few favours?
