EA it says he's 5'10" on LFC's website... not a giant maybe but of average height at least but I do agree with your overall point... if he's going to play off the shoulder we need to give him a chance to do just that
  • 5'10 tall, Exiled.

    And he's faaaaaaaast!
  • From what I've seen on youtube he looks like he puts himself about a bit and is not afraid to get stuck in as well. And as tango stated, Eccleston seems like he can use both feet. A couple of goals scored from either foot. He can play either up front or on the wing. But hopefully he'll be utilised up front to add some much need pace to a front line that hasn't seen any speedy players in the last two or three seasons?!
  • He will be prolific given he right passes and he also works when he doesn't have the ball. No he hasn't scored many goals so far but thats hardly surprising having not had a proper run in the team. I expect him to do extremely well for Charlton and i am pretty sure he's the best forward thats been here in recent years. Give the lad a chance hopefully there will be a couple more signings, playmaker and defender and we will cruise the second half of the season. I for one am very excited at seeing him at Charlton.

Actually it's now the backline that can do with some much needed pace.

    That sounds really encouraging, Uncle!

Danny Green from D & R? 2 goals 9 assists so far this season in the league.

Ryan Harley from Exeter? 6 goals 6 assists so far this season in the league.

Nicky Law from Rotherham? 2 goals 9 assists so far this season in the league.

Would also put forward Marc Pugh but can't see it happening.
  • I've seen him Oggy he's good and Jonjo text me last night to say how good he was. I had heard he was going to Palace or QPR so text Jonjo to ask if he might be coming here and he confirmed he was. He said tell all the Charlton life boys that excellent or words to that effect. He trains with him day in and day out so i know who's word i'm taking on this. Stats dont mean anything and can so badly mis-report how a player is actually doing. I'm gonna go Sheffield on Saturday so he bloody better be good ;-)
  • Hope he starts up top with Joe on Saturday, as well as the 5 man midfield did with containment at WHL we need to give it a go on Saturday
  • Excellent news - I am stunned that one of our 'tie-ups' has actually borne some fruit!

It says something that we got him in the face of competition from clubs higher up. So,

    1. We have competitive resources at the club and Slater used these to good effect, or

    2. Jonjo helped show him the way, which is a nice thought

If either, or both of these is true then it is great news. He could normally be expected to have gone to a club much higher up the football tree than ourselves; I am looking forward to seeing what he can do as we appear to have pulled of a coup here.

Good stuff! All we need to do now is get behind the lad.
He's here for the rest of the season. Let's give him our full support.

I'll expect a full report from Hillsboro', Uncle!

Of course you will get one.....Got the scoop for this one and about 18 hours before the OS, might go into being a reporter ;-)

Just need Shelvey in the middle now laying the balls off for him :)

    Sounds good.

But who is taking the decsions on players?

Three since Parky left, I think, all relating to loans - Seip gone, Fry extended and this lad coming in.

Who says we need a permanent manager?
  • Bring on Saturday , i can't wait!
  • 5' 10" ain't so bad - above average in the general population but he'll still look fairly small on a football pitch - you really need to be 6' + these days to avoid that.

Oh well, it'll be nice to see a bit more pace in the front line. He sounds quite similar to Anyinsah though, not sure they'll make a pair but with Joe being made of biscuits, we could do with an alternative that doesn't mean having to drastically change our style of play (not that we really have one of those at the moment!)
  • Lets just hope we don't ruin things by hoofing the ball up to him as Benson has had to endure. Before Saturdays efforts i would have felt sorry for the kid coming here but am a bit more optimistic for him (and us) now.
  • thanks for all the info Uncle, very much appreciated. I'm getting quite excited for the first time in years! (about Charlton that is).

Your welcome and thanks for adding (about Charlton that is) at the end......Otherwise far to much info ;-)
  • His going to be better then Benson, Akpo and Abbott and will have better general fitness then Big Joe, so it's all good right?
  • Cheers Unc. At my age it's best if I don't give anyone the wrong impression!

    You're too old, Uncle.

    But keep taking your medication.

    ;o)
  • He is at Charlton. The Cafc players are following him on Twitter.
  • Is he a striker? He played out & out left winger in these clips...

  • Hes a speedy winger/striker abit like Martin again with not much a great goal scoring record. Im looking foward to seeing him but could have got someone abit more of a natural goalscorer.. But he could do well with Benson winning balls in the air for him or even Akpo

    Tekkers!
  • I really rate him. I get the feeling he needs a run in a side to raise his confidence a bit though (from what Ive seen on LfcTV).
  • the boy is lightening quick real raw pace i mean turbo speed he put a run in during the england game we went too to watch jonjo and everyone went jeesus christ how quick was he
  • Hope this gets finalised soon as they may want him back if things get much worse there!
  • Latest from his twitter:
