Christ almighty, your allowed on the internet with your record???
After that Swindon game that little shite Willie Carson ran through the crowd outside the West Stand getting his minder to push everyone out of the way for him.
One of my favourite ever away games - had an absolutely fantastic day before the footy even started and Andy Hunts winner just capped it all off.
Cov went into freefall after that game and still haven't recovered.
As well as the ballons, I remember a Charlton fan having a heart attack before the game kicked off and being stretchered out as the teams came on. I don't think he survived.
Great day out. Went up by train. Remember the pub by the ground away fans one side, home fans the other - was it The Sky Blue Tavern? Great atmosphere.
Coventry fan in the CAFC seats celebrated their second goal and someone about 4 rows behind dived on him.
Gary McAllister tore us apart for the first 30 mins. Could have sworn he went off injured early.
Thanks for the memories. I was so drunk by kick off I couldn't even remember who scored.
And yeah, we got attacked by some Coventry 'thugs' hours later. They only really got brave when they were mob-handed chasing one lad into a dead-end alley with the immortal threat: "Tell Gravesend we're gonna cut 'em".
He had to say it twice to be understood mind. His face had been rather re-arranged. ;-)
Cracking shout H&A, one of my top five Charlton games this one. We absolutely blew Cov away in the second half which was especially enjoyable as we were the underdogs.
Watched this through the fog of a monster hangover. Great game, soured by the old guy who had a heart attack just before kick off. Pretty sure it was reported that he died.
All the boys who got picked off after the game should have waited for the bulk of our lot to come out as we knew their would be a waiting committee waiting for us!!
We must have had at least 100 of our lot in an escort on the way to the station when 30+of their firm came running over to the front of the escort at a roundabout at the bottom of the duel carriage way! All I can say fair play to the first 4 or 5 who came right over but came very unstuck! The rest of their lot saw what we were dishing out and thought twice about come over! They must have been pissed off about it and started picking off 2s and 3s??
A few weeks later we played them in the league, this time only about 15 of us went up on the way back to the station after we had 10 meat wagons and about 50 OB for about 20 of us!! The OB were not going to be surprised again! Good days
My abiding memory of this game: the guy in front of me had a heart attack immediately prior to kick-off and died. Not funny. I know it was a great day but not for me.
That evening I had 5 right on the lottery and won a couple of thousand punds. I was so shaken up that I didn't think to check until a couple of days later.
Now I just think I was just 1 digit off 1 and a bonus and £200000!
One of the best away games i have been to. When they went 2 up i was worried about the scoreline. But that Charlton team didn't know how to lose at the toughest of times.
Great day out and one of the first places on my away day travels that i recognised as an absolute dump of a city.
I remember the old fella being passed down to the front on a stretcher, shook quite a few people up.
Fantastic game and a great day out. Walk back to the station was intimidating, with Coventry nutters looking for some easy targets.
Walk, walk ? We got chased !
In that case I think I must have been lagging well behind the main pack. Also remember Barry Davies giving us a cheery wave from the commentary gantry at the end of the game.

Went to Cardiff in the early 80's - Hales scored a hatrick.
Their fans were a nightmare and about 50 odd jumped into our end. Thank God the police got in between cos I didnt fancy our chances.

Walk back to the station after was a bit hairy!

Really great away game this. When you look at the footage of Newtons goal, players were killing themselves to get into the box and support the move.
Andy Hunt was on fire at this game.
100% desire to win.
Wonder why C***s can't get a job now???? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
