1st half awful, second was better but still only a couple of efforts on goal. From Parky's comments afterwards I think he is deluded. Francis was so shockingly bad it's untrue. All other's were 'okay' except for Reidy who was the only one who shone. We should be seeing so much more from the likes of Jackson, Martin, Racon and even Waggy. That we arn't is down to one person imo.
It doesn't disguise the fact that MK Dons look like a team but are atrocious in doing anything positive. They had no chance in open play at the Valley and only looked threatening on set piece crosses. As soon as Abbott came on at The Valley they looked a lesser threat at set pieces.
However anyone paints this we need players in the front six who will set there stall out in the first 45 mins. We do not take games to teams in the first 45. Brentford sound a much better team than the MK Dons I've seen. Whoever it is we're playing, we need Abbott because he is competitive and we need McCormack or Jackson in the middle with Semedo. All our midfielders apart from Semedo dissappear at some point. We need someone reliable next to Semedo for the phases of play we're second best. Then hopefully we'll find our more talented pacey/wingers in the breakdown.

Dagenham at home?
Also started brightly vs Notts County, but went to pieces after about 20 mins.[/quote]
This seems to come up quite a lot, we battered daggers for the first 45. Good win last night and Reid had a blinder. Their defence couldn't cope with him and resorted to some cynical fouls. Worried what will happen when he gets injured though. Plymouth game looks more appealing now. Come on you reds.
Last night was the first game I have seen for a while now, to begin with I thought maybe that's all for the best, watching Charlton in person seemed to be a truly painful experience. However as everyone is saying, second half we looked good, albeit only in contrast to our previous play and a woeful Dons team. Also I would say well done to the supporters who made it up to the game, could be heard making noise particularly in the second half.
Let's have more of the 2nd half than the first on Saturday please Mr Parkinson.
from his comments last night after the game, i feel reidy seems like a player thats only gonna get better and really thrive on playing in this league and for this club. i applaud parky and his staff for giving him the 15 mins against MK last week and the time against Brenford. looked fit as a fiddle last night for the whole 90 mins, so hopefully thats his injury problems behind him.
the player that i really look forward to watching when we play and the most talented player we've had since Andy Reid left the club.
[cite]Posted By: Chris_from_Sidcup[/cite]Before last night when did we last win a cup game away from home?
it was january 2009 away at norwich in the fa cup
parkys 11th game as manager and his first win which confirmed what a master stroke it was by murray to appoint him for the struggle to stay in the championship .......

Another dig at Racon. Do you honestly think he did a bad job yesterday?
I thought he put in a decent shift for the team.

yes I'm afraid with the two in midfield they take an age a to control it and b to move it on. I will admit when he stretched and ran with the ball in the last 20 or so it was a vast improvement but those to cannot retain the ball and Racon especially runs to many blind alleys
First half was dreadful, same old **** we been serving up all season capped by just not bothering to defend their first attack resulting in a goal.
Second half, there was some life, a spark, some creation, mainly from Reid but there was something there, MK couldn't handle him, lost track of how many bookings were conceded against him.
Probably about 300 Charlton fans there, difficult to create an atmosphere but picked up in the second half, militant stewards absolutely hell bent on keeping people sat down. People doing the conga around the away end after the second goal, was good fun. And to see every Charlton player come to the away end for a good minute to applaud the fans was refreshing. Good night out.
The thing about Francis is that not only does he misplace his passes but they seem to unerringly go straight to the feet an oppo player. It's uncanny.
He was a lot better in the 2nd half but can't disguise his general inability and his terrible performance at Brentford. Do sense he is a bit of a focal point for disconent about the team generally.
Racon was annoymous first half but came into his own second half with driving runs and then releasing the ball to Reidy.
Semedo has got to learn to tackle, otherwise there will be more red cards for him this season
Francis still looks out of sorts
Martin is starting to look like a show pony - something we can't afford at this level.
Reidy is looking like his namesake - someone we are starting to rely too much upon. I heard that our last 4 goals have come from his crosses - god forbid he gets injured as we have no other supply atm.
Francis just doesn't look good enough. it looked like the reason Wagstaff was anonymous in the 2nd half was because he had to hold back to help Francis, even Abbott showed up in that part of the pitch a few times. If that is correct then good management to cover him, but poor management to have bought him in the first place.
I feel we will look a far better side when we get Solly and Youga back, anyone know when they are likely to return?
Well done on last nights win parky, the half time talk seemed to improve the team, but our weaknesses should not be a reason to go for oppo more often, I still feel we are set up a bit defensively, yes we have a dodgy defence at times, but for that reason we really ought to go for the oppo more as we have decent wide men and attackers if we give them the service.
Another Jekyll & Hyde performance but a win nevertheless .
Good to make our way home with smiles on our faces after taking 90mins to navigate the mile and a half from my house to the Dartford Tunnel...Grrrrrr !

Don't think that's why Wagstaff was quiet in the second half. He didn't get the ball very often, most of our play went down the left.
Remember Wagstaff didn't look ready to start regularly last season, he's not suddenly taken his game up a level over the summer. I'm not moaning about him, he's working hard and scoring goals, I'm sure in time he'll be more involved in creating chances. Just don't think we can say it's simply because Francis is rubbish Wagstaff is quiet for a lot of the game. It's a mixture of reasons.

Took me 90 mins to get from Charlton to MK at 16:00 but on the way back took nigh on 3 hours due to junction shut just before Dartford on M25, completely wrong way round was expected.

I dont understand what people want him to do
I agree that Francis gave the ball away far too much but 2nd half he was much better a defender, his passing was still hoof ball.
He did put in a demon of a cross but only once, He seems to have an elemant of panick when he gets the ball
