Orient 1 - 3 Charlton - PLAYER RATINGS

13

Comments

  • Elliot - 6 don't like this new idea of his to punch when he could catch, also poor distribution at times
Francis - 7 great pass for 1st goal and not bad defensively
Dailly - 5 should have known better than get the 2nd yellow, down to poor ball control
Doherty - 7 slightly at fault for goal but can't do everything
Jackson - 7 defended quite well and linked with Reid
Wagstaff - 7.5 was out of the game for periods but great goal and assist
Racon - 6 at fault for their goal and did give the ball away in midfield
McCormack - 7 good tackling and puts in some good passes to start attacks
Reid - 6 was well tamed by their defence but it gave others space
Martin - 8 was everywhere, totally committed and linked well with Abbott
Abbott - 7.5, not the fastest but makes up for this with good ball control and positional sense
Llera - 7.5 can't fault him, if he had been on for 90mins would have been mom

Sodje - showed the difference to Abbott when he received a long ball on the left, it bounced off him into touch.

Team spirit: 9 - to me the whole team, including the bench were the mom as it was the spirit of the team that one the match even though individual players did very well

    Elliot - 6.5 - Did ok
Francis - 6.5 - Again ok, didn't stand out but great cross for the goal. Much more to come from him I think
Dailly - 6 - Thought he was fine apart from getting sent off
    Doherty - 7 - Generally solid
    Jackson - 6.5 - Did his job
Wagstaff - 8 - Nothing more than ok first half, but a good goal and assist and helped out defensively
Racon - 6.5 - Another ok but didn't stand out
McCormack - 7.5 - Did well, good to see him score. Has added some aggression to the midfield
Reid - 6 - Wasn't bad but a few mistakes. If Sam played like that he'd be getting 5s.
Martin - 7 - Did well but a few mistakes, set up Wagstaff. Like Francis there's more to come hopefully
Abbott - 7 - Thought he did quite well, I think the goals will come if he gets more service, 10 men didn't help that
    Llera - 7 - Did well

Francis - 5.5 Gave ball away far too much & for no good reason, also out of position at times & sliced a ball to McGleish which he should have scored from. Redeemed himself with excellent pass for 1st goal.
Dailly - 6 Marked down by me for getting sent off
Doherty - 8 Excellent, very solid , possibly could have cut out their goal, but that's being harsh on him
Jackson - 6 Steady & quiet game .Out of position a few times early on, which could have cost us on another day.
Wagstaff -8.5 MOM. He has to be MOM as he scored a superb goal & put another on a plate for Solly. I've been on of his critics, but credit where it's due, that was his BEST game for Charlton without doubt. Very well done Waggy !
Racon - 7 Decent game, but his poor pass was the main reason for Orient's goal
McCormack - 8 Outstanding again, his committment is in the Kinsella mould, I hope it will continue
Reid - 6 Very quiet game disappointing - but no complaints from me after his previous 2 performances
Martin - 8 Caused problems all night & ran his socks off, well done Lee your committment is noted
    Abbott - 8 - Same as Martin
Llera - 8 Superb, but he's always been good in the air. His problem is getting turned buty never ran at him. Nevertheless well done Miguel.

(NB Solly 10 - one touch one goal, great running ) Well done Chris !

Elliot - 6 I've always rooted for Robbie, but feel he could command his box much better. Hesitant in his decision making. Could have come off his line and smothered that low cross that deceived the Doc. Some punches lacked distance.
Francis - 7 He's not really sharp enough yet, and tired badly. But stuck to his task. Great cross for the opening goal.
Dailly - 6 Generally steady enough but let down by 2 rash moments.
Doherty - 8 Well, I've got to say he put in a proper 1st ball CB performance. Impressive.
Jackson - 7 Dependable enough. Stuck to his task.
Wagstaff - 9 MOM. Why? The whole team effort saved a point. Wagstaff won us the game and all 3 points; two key moments when he came up with something special and decisive. Last night he came of age.
Racon - 7 Played deeper than suits his game, but still put in a decent shift for the team.
McCormack - 8 We've been missing this in the team. A box to box version of Semedo. Scored a Bailey-esque goal.
Reid - 6 Never really got started, no impact at all. Omo had him fairly well contained in the final third
Martin - 8 Great skills, quick feet. Sublime lay off for the assist for Waggy's goal. Linked up well with Abbott, covered for Jacko and every blade of grass inbetween. And really demonstrated how much he wanted to win. Impressive.
Abbott - 8 Lacks a little pace but has just about everything else. Vision and footballing intelligence, decent touch and holds the ball up brilliantly. And willing to run through brick walls for the cause. Real thumbs up.
Llera - 8 Big Mig came on in a difficult situation and did all that could be asked from him. Now that's strength from the bench.

Akpo - Bit indecisive a couple of times but carried on from where Pav left off. Again defended from the front and pressured defenders and helped slow their play. Played a vital part in feeding Waggy which led to Solly's goal.

Solly - So pleased for him! One touch, one goal .....and look how the team mobbed him! His time will come, big time.

PARKY - that was rubbish, Parky....... putting a side together that covered every blade of grass, worked for each other, and played with tremendous spirit to retrieve a situation that may well have defeated us in recent seasons.
And against the odds, pulled off a 3-1 win away from home with just 10 men for 40 minutes.
And you spent £50k putting that side together? .....Rubbish! Parky OUT!

I'm really liking this group of players: ability and guts.
  • Elliot - 7.5 Like the rest did well when we were under pressure.
Francis - 7.5 Good first league start, team player.
Dailly - 6.5 Captain, therefore silly boy, the handball put him under too much threat.
Doherty - 8.5 Immense when we needed a battler. Likes a header doesn't he?
Jackson - 7.5 Good shift throughout, probably not his best position, backed up Kyel.
Wagstaff - 8.5 OK first half, excellent second half, scored one made one, finished dead on his feel...great finish btw.
Racon - 7.5 I thought he did better defending than usual, bit of a rickett for the goal, but didn't hide.
McCormack - 9 My MOM, took the goal well, took the pain well, gave all he could, very impressed at his team attitude.
Reid - 7.5 As usual oppo teams give him a lot of attention, often a threat, not his fault he was sacrificed.
Martin - 8 Really impressive shift, all action, trouble for the opposition, hope he keeps this up.
Abbott - 8 Phenomenal attitude, as the lone guy when we had 10 he played like two blokes.
Llera - 8 Could hardly have done better coming on in that situation, excellent contribution.
Akpo - 7 Needs to learn to think more, could be brilliant with more nous.
Solly - 8 One touch one goal. One start one goal. I like him a lot, his critics can moan all they like, he is one of our boys, great finish...it felt great in the stands that's for sure.

Orient 6 pretty, but powder puff last night.
Orient fans 5 hmmmn, they had a drummer tho.

Elliot - 6.5 What's up with his kicking? Fitness?
Francis - 6.5 OK, early days.
Dailly - 6 Should have known better, not impressed on this occasion.
Doherty - 7.5 Intimidating presence, cast iron head, brave and some vital blocks. Not sure about the goal that got past him.
Jackson - 6.5 OK but a bit slow to react at times
Wagstaff - 8 Tremendous attitude, seemingly tireless, he's going to wear defences out.
Racon - 7.0 Looked more up for it this time. Some good interceptions.
McCormack - 7.5 Good game. Love his attitude and positive but controlled aggression.
    Reid - 6.5 A bit tired maybe.
Martin - 7.5 Obviously still fitting in with the squad, very energetic and athletic. A bit of a free spirit -just get the feeling that he's going to be quite exciting.
Abbott - 7.5 A keen football brain. Hope he gets some service.
Llera - 7.5 From a cold start he looked up for it. Worked well with Doc. Some beautiful accurate headers, good solid game when it was most needed.
