  • [cite]Posted By: golfaddick[/cite]They SHOULD be capable of at least 10 goals - whether they score them is another matter !!

6 games in and the strikers have scored just 2 between them. just not good enough, but then I've been saying that since the end of May !!
Of course. Was just making the point that they're all capable of scoring as many as Mooney.
  • Scored again saturday........
  • 4 Goals so far this season
  • At that rate, he could get 23 goals this year ...

What, 2 goals in 8 league games? Like Abbott, he scores twice in a cup game.
  • Seems to be popular at Col U.
Should be a definite target for January! Been a brilliant signing by Ward, he doesn't just score goals but really helps out and contributes to others, we always look more dangerous with MOOOONEY on the pitch!
To be honest, I think we should look at a permanent deal, with him and Odejayi forming a good pair in recent weeks and with Gillespie's injury issues, we can't be certain of a good striking partnership every week. He has done well and has slowly got better as the seasons' progressed

8 goals now isn't it, in all competitions? It was always a bit churlish to suggest he was plain useless as there were always hints at his potential while he was with us as he scored some good goals and had some good games.

Would be interesting to know how he'd be doing for us playing in front of this season's midfield and with someone like Anyinsah. I suspect he'd be doing quite well, but he's probably of a very similar level to Benson - he probably has a better touch but Benson maybe has a bit more predatory instinct.

Still, I'm pleased he's found a home where he's playing well and he's being appreciated - as has been said many times before, it was pretty embarassing the way he was treated by some people while he was here and that's put him into the category of ex Addicks I want to see do well elsewhere.

Woould be well worth a fiver on him to score at the Valley when we play them.
  • Good points, Exiled.
  • I reckon 500 on him to score would be money well spent..
  • Anytime goalscorer odds?

  • 7/4 at Paddy Power, 11/2 for 1st goal
  • what are the odds of him hitting a corner flag with a shot on goal ?
  • Judging by our record of previous players scoring against us this guy will probably have a blinder. He was a useful player but once people got on his back, myself included towards the end of his loan i have to admit, he couldn't be bothered for us.

    only marginally !!
  • If he scores infront of the away end the celebration will be interesting. His treatment here last year was disgraceful. He is IMO a better player than both Abbott and Sodje and I would have been ok with him coming back.

Incidently if he does give it to the away end you watch the mass hysteria break out on here re: how his behaviour is outrageous.

What about Benson? Personally I would prefer Mooney to Benson
  • agree with Clem - his treatment here was shocking, if he scores he would be fully justified in celebrating wildly in front of our fans.
I like him, wish he was still here but realise our fans' vocal treatment of him made that unlikely.
I hope he can get them a late consolation goal.
  • I hope he is through one on one with Robbie in front of us away fans and he balloons it over the bar into the crowd. He'd get such stick he'd need to be substituted. That would really make me laugh.
  • Agree with Clem, if it he gives the finger to us as a celebration on NYD I would say he was holding himself back.

And suppose Mooney stuck it away......who'd be laughing then?

  • It's Sods Law that Mooney would score though......old boy syndrome, of course.

And ram the abuse back down the throat of his abusers.
  • thats because his abusers know fuck all about football
  • [cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]thats because his abusers know fuck all about football

    What he said.
  • i thought the boo boys were only at the valley though and it was just the hard core loyal fans that travelled?
