Yes he shouldn't have been booed but that doesn't mean we'd want him to score. Maybe you and Jake will go home happy and smiling if he hits the winner in a 1-0 win for them yeah?

Right, but now he plays for the opposition, so I don't quite understand why you'd still want him to do well, AGAINST US.
I could see your point if you'd have said 'i want him to be 3rd highest scorer in the league, behind Abbot and Martin, but to say you want him to score against us is very odd, most people prefer to get behind the team, no wish badly upon them.
Just as bad as a boo boy, could do without fans like you ;-)

so what ? Pawal Abbott scored two for us last night if anyone noticed. Much rather concentrate on what OUR players are doing as opposed to those of other clubs.

Some people prefer bashing their own fans, rather than getting on with supporting the team.

Large I'm with you big man, have you changed anything in the last 24 hours or so... I'm finding myself agreeing with everything you say!

Yep, had a good long look at myself and took a chill pill !!!
[cite]Posted By: Richard J[/cite]I was one who liked Mooney , but he wasn't the same player during the second loan .
I am more than happy with Martin as a replacement , its a different sort of player we need now.
I agree with Richard J on this. Mooney was good in the first spell, then got crocked, against millwall (?). In the first spell, tried hard, linked the play up well, pulled defenders out of their positions and made space, he also contributed with some goals. After the injury, he seemed to run away from the ball, get himself offside, and run round to no particularly good effect.
It was either that the League one defence's sussed him, he was still a bit injured or suffered from the midfield (Bailey) being off form in the early months of 2010. He defintely wasn't the same player. He was dropped and then came back to make some sub appearances where he was ok. When he started in the Play offs, I thought he was poor again.
Maybe now he is fit and trying hard to impress and may fade later. All that cupping the ear nonsense was ill advised when he would have been better acknowleding that that he was off form. That was really the end of Mooney, no way back for him after that.
Probably score against us, but I am not bothered. Let Colchester have him.
From the game at the Valley, I would say that Colchester were a terrible team to watch, lumping the ball up to the front to two tall blokes.
I see Mooney's scored but I can't see the long ball game favouring his game. Maybe Colchester are trying to do something different this year and play to feet.

I think the new management at Colchester said they wanted to play a more attractive form of football this season. It was Boothroyd who favoured the long ball game, hes now with Coventry, I did not see the game so don't know if words have been put into action
My Colchester United supporting mate at work has now formed the same opinion of Mooney as me.......that he's crap....he liked him at first, now thinks he's awful, too lightweight etc......Colchester just signed a striker on loan from Watford.

Why on earth would you want an opposition player to score against us?
Strange, most fans never want to see their club concede....

doesnt take a rocket scientist...
"of course we'll get 2 back through akpo straight after though :)"
so therefore it will shut up the boo boys a bit more since we will be 2-1 up through akpo :)

They SHOULD be capable of at least 10 goals - whether they score them is another matter !!
6 games in and the strikers have scored just 2 between them. just not good enough, but then I've been saying that since the end of May !!
Although only one of those strikers was here in May and two joined just before the window closed.
