Had injury problems, also like many winger not always consistent and possibly struggled like many to make his mark in a struggling side. Has plenty of ability though and could be worth a gamble. Capable of scoring a belter or two aswell.
Don't wanna put a downer on the fella before I have even seen him, but would much prefer we tried to resign Kyle Reid, of all the wingers we have had over the last six or so years including Rommedahl, Thomas, Sam, Cook etc he seemed to make the most things happen for the team.
I see Esajas didn't feature against Kettering, so are we to presume that now Reid's in he won't be signing? Of those who have seen him, anybody think he could be converted into a striker? Could be worth a shot if he can utilise his pace to latch on from Akpo flicks, maybe they've even forged a link at Wednesday?
I know it's probably down to money but i'd still sign him. We're still well short of options and i don't think Wagstaff is up to playing every game. Jackson can obviously cover Reid on the left but it's still not a lot of options for a long season.

I'd rather go for a right winger, Esajas and Reid are both left footed, I wouldn't really want to see either of them have to play on on the right.
I quite fancied the idea of Esajas and he sounds like he could be a good player at this level.
Next year it looks like Reid will be our main outlet ,Sam similarly was replaced quite often by Waggy last year late on in games , but I guess it all comes down to what we can afford.
CHARLTON have decided against signing winger Etienne Esajas.
The former Sheffield Wednesday attacker spent the early part of pre-season on trial at The Valley and started the Addicks’ first friendly against AFC Wimbledon.
But the 25-year-old wanted a quick answer and Charlton boss Phil Parkinson, who is still not completely sure of his budget for the coming season, didn’t feel he was in a position to cement his interest.
Esajas is no longer training with the South Londoners, who are spending a few days at Lilleshall this week as part of their preparations for the new League One campaign.
“Etienne wanted a decision from us quickly and I didn’t think he had done enough to warrant the type of contract he was looking for at this stage,” said Parkinson.
“I have no doubts that he will go on to find a good club but it just wasn’t right for us at this point.”
The right decision, he'd only be competition to Reid and it sounds like he wanted a good wage and/or a longer term contract, and wasn't prepared to wait around long for an offer either.
Good decision now we have Reid on the left, would much rather we use funds elsewhere specifically upfront and on the right of midfield where I think we need someone to challenge Wagstaff. The left hand side unlike last season is now looking fairly strong with Reid as potentially one of the best in the league and Jackson also able to cover that position.
[cite]Posted By: I-SAW-POUSO-PLAY[/cite]Sign Kazenga Lua Lua on loan instead.
Sort of player I wouldn't be surprised if we were looking at him as a potential loan signing.
I doubt we'll get anyone on loan until later on, once we know that there aren't many permanent options out there, and the season starts so players like him end up in the reserves. Much like us with Mambo and Stavrinou, we need them in pre-season but perhaps won't once the season starts.
Not a loss now that we have Reid on board - I expect Parky was just looking at him in case Reid went elsewhere.
I think we are ok for the wings now - Waggy & Reid are perfectly acceptable in the league and better than the Bailey/Sam combo of last season. A couple of back up players/loanees would be good but our main serch now must be for a decent forward pairing.
Akpo and Buaza are a start but need 2 more to compliment and then add Tuna if there are injuries etc.
We are fine for centre halves and if we can just add Fortune then we'll have no problems there at all
Jackson/Youga at LB and then Solly/ a n nother at RB

There will be plenty of wingers out there, but at this level the ones available to us we've probably not heard of or know much about.
hmmmm.
Could be the chances he missed in the relegation decider against Palace? ;-)
Sure made me want to slap him
Link: We could do worse than sign Esajas

Now lets hope Bauza and Fortune sign.
I still think there may some freebies to be shaken out.
