Left footed winger released by Sheff Wed.

I believe this is a Parky annual tradition after taking Wade Small on trial last year, after Sheff Wed released him.

As expected, there will be several other trialists involved.

  • no mention of Youga or McLeod I notice.
  • no thanks.
  • Saw him score some cracking goals. I'm assuming he must be one of those guys that is often anonymous because in highlights I've seen he looked upper end of the CCC level, but never seemed to settle in Weds team
  • What's not to like. He's Dutch, he scores from 30 yard free kicks and he's got locks.

    Sign him up now.

Had a feeling Youga wouldn't be there, McLeod not surprised about. Both on decent wages, McLeod we can replace on a smaller wage, and Youga perhaps we can get a decent fee for. Full backs not the hardest position to replace.

Are either of them fit yet?
  • I honestly reckon I should be a scout. I saw him last year and liked the look of him - lo and behold we have him on trial.

He's a tricky left footed winger. Very pacy but bit of a headless chicken. Scored some belters but wonder if he has the relevant "intelligence" to really cut it.

He's like a fast Ricky Otto

He's like a fast Ricky Otto

"You're just a fast Ricky Otto" sounds like a good song.

We have to sign him now.
  • Can beat defenders and hit his trademark 20 and 30 yard piledrivers.

Made his mark at Dutch side Vitesse, and signed for Wednesday 3 years ago to replace Chris Brunt, sold to West Brom for £3.5m. Had more than his fair share of injuries.

In Parky's book, it'll depend how 'hungry' he is.
  • I tell you what i saw that fella absolutely rip Shef Utd apart when he came on scored a cracking goal and looked the nutts,

In the 1 game i saw i would take him on that performance alone,

How about this if we sign him and he performs i will wear a parky is a super manger t shirt and never ever say a bad word against him.

I reckon for a good manager this fella could be mustard

    we'll hold you to that : - )
  • Seems like he's another typically inconsistent winger, Reid is not the only option out there.

A relegation battle doesn't always suit wingers as we've seen with Thomas, Rommedahl and Sam. If Parky manages to build a good side it might suit him more than a struggling Sheff Wed did.
  • He's a decent player and better than the options we already have. Lets hope we sign him on a permanent deal.

I think they are both injured.

McLeod had that back or hip operation which kept him out for Peterborough and Yougas knee the last we heard had to go back to see the specialist so I doubt either are fit.
  • Scored a beauty against Sheff Utd as has been said, every other time he did pay like Ricky Otto!!
  • A Sheffield Wednesday's fans opinion on another site-
He's one of these crowd favourite (well kinda, "why didn't he play Esajas" when we lose) types because he comes up with a quality goal once in a while. Hasn't started nearly enough games to get a new deal though. Sod all consistency.
Reminds me of Dickson a bit...
  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT8DRjZQvC0 - I thought he looked a bit like Euell?
  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3lUOg8sdCM&feature=related ..... yes please!
  • think he'll be decent for us at League 1 level but if we sign him you can forget Reid.

  • Here's another, versus Birming gum:

    Esajas free kick goal

He's like Lloyd Sam with a wicked shot on him. Provided he turns up.
  • We could do a lot worse, scored a cracker in the Sheffield derby last season at Bramall Lane and remember him hitting the post from 30 yards in their second to last game of the season against Cardiff.

Would be a gamble, but if we could get him fit, could have a very decent player.
  • Knows how to take a free kick....
  • Sounds like a typical winger and probably one if he signed people would either hate or love him like Sam and people would moan about inconsistancy i.e. Thomas/Sam/Ambrose.

Very hard to find a winger especially at this level who can perform game after game.

True at any level really. The more reliable ones usually have less pace and skill but more end product (eg Reid over Rommedahl), but then you could argue they're not out and out wingers.
  • I'd take him gladly, but I'd also be pleased with Reid, now it looks unlikely Sam will resign and we have lost Bailey/Spring/Shelvey out of the midfield equation, I suppose it isn't unthinkable that both might come

Ambrose was consistant - never saw him play a good game for us.
  • This could be a good signing especially if we don't get Reid . Could we have both to raise competition and variy options ? Then our left side would look very tasty .

Need to sign a Right Winger as well now.
  • If we get Esajas then it will mean we have him, Jackson, Basey and even Wagstaff capable of playing on the left so it will be a strong area unlike last season. Plenty of options and a nice bit of competition aswell.

Would be good to get a new RM in aswell to give Wagstaff some competiton and then hopefully the midfield will be sorted, hoping for a Gary Teale/Chris Sedgewick but they have already gone I think, plenty of time though.
  • Why dont Wednesday want him then?
