  • 3 i'm afraid. Southampton to get promoted on record points. ;-(
  • I'll let you know after 10 league games.

Couldn't have any basis to hazard a guess otherwise.
  • Hard to say with our current squad as it's still quite short from full strenght, if Parky can keep signing players of the level he has been, i'm quietley optimistic of us grabbing 2nd.
  • I believe we will avoid Administration this year, Relegation we'll have to see. If the season started tomorrow we would be about two injuries away from a crisis. The season starts in about Three weeks though so plenty of time to get in a few more signings of the calibre we have already signed, then we can seriously judge where we should be. In all seriousness though the squad we have now on numbers alone would get us relegated.
  • [cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]anyone feel differently?

I've got to say yes I am! I said 2 or 3 but I'm starting to edge toward 1 after the last few days we've had...
  • anyone changed their view?

I think a striker, cm who can attack tackle/pass/retain the ball, and a backup centre half could see us very competive although with another centre half we could always use semedo at the backup, I'm going for mid table until I know who else we bring in
  • We already have anther centre back - Matt Fry. Get Youga fit and Jackson is another option in central midfield. Just can't see us signing another CM.

For me we just need another striker and a winger to give Wagstaff and Reid competition, hopefully someone who can play either side, ideally a right winger and a left winger. Can't see that happening though.

I'm not worried about being anywhere near the relegation zone now. Back at the start of July we didn't have any idea of the type of signings we'd make.

Get those 2 players in, maybe the odd loanee if desperately needed we should be able to make the play-offs. Long way to go though.
  • Not yet i fear the squad is too weak and thin we certainly will struggle if we lose

    pawell or martin,

    Reid or Waggy

    Doc or dailey

    Semedo or Mack

for more than a few games short term absence we will cope lose 1 or 2 of them for any sort of lengthy time period and the balance has gone
  • 1.

This is not a strong division - no Leeds or Norwich this year, and none of the relegated teams look to be the sort you'd fear while we've already beaten one promoted side and another - Notts County have lost last season's manager.

In the meantime Parky has gone about his work quietly putting together a team with some quality in the shape of Martin and Reid while a lot of the other signings Abbot, McCormack, Doherty have some physcal presence about them. I can't see many teams successfully trying to intimidate us.

Most L1 teams would love a spine of Elliot, Dailly, Doherty, Semedo, McCormack, Martin and Abbot and with Reid and Wagstaff offering some pace and skill on either flank I think we'll create the chances, we just have to take them. If we do, then automatic promotion is there for the taking.
