the players we brought in late, last season did great...
surely its a much bigger job though this year, the size of the squad is far smaller this time, I guess it'll depend on any of the out of contract players signing againtoo
4-5 for me, our squad is going to be very weak regardless and we are going to need a lot of luck with injuries. Last season our best players in Semedo, Bailey and Dailly were fit for virtually the whole season and think we will need similar returns this time.
This time last year we had only signed Llera. Just had a look and it also took until 31st July until Randolph signed a new deal last year. So there's still time.
Difference is I think there is even more to do this year.
This time next week I think we'll have a better idea, Bailey should have gone and hopefully a few players have sorted out new deals. A signing or two if we're lucky.
At the moment I feel like it'll be 4 at best. Hopefully no worse than 5. That won't be good enough for some, but that's the position we're in and without some very good signings I don't think promotion will be a realistic aim.
3, league is so terrible that a decent spine of Semedo, Racon and Dailly would probably be enough to get 5th or 6th again. However one of Wednesday, Huddersfield or Southampton will be far too strong in the play-offs.
My head tells me 4 or maybe even 5 and I think that's what I need to prepare myself for to avoid too much dissapointment, but I hope we can still squeak a play-off place but, if we do, it'll be 5th or 6th and probably a good few points away from the top 2, but once you're in that knock-out who knows what might happen.
Think we'll be quite direct next season and will be setup to be solid through the centre and try to do the best part of our attacking down the flanks. I think Parky ideally wants to play with a big man/little man combo upfront but time will tell if he can get the players he wants to fill that system.
Tbh, I think the only realistic goal we should set ourselves is to do no worse than stay in League 1. I hope we still do better than that, but I don't think it would be reasonable to expect anymore than that.
4 - we have watched players that would be good additions go to other clubs, and we now have one (useless) striker at the club. So this is me being optimistic!
[cite]Posted By: Harveys Trainer[/cite]3 for me. The rest of the league are simply woeful.

I'm inclined to agree with these comments. Barring a few clubs League 1 is awful, even a threadbare Charlton should be able to make the top 6, any further is pushing it.

think we will get in some half-decent players, added to the ones that stay and we will have a team thats capable of finishing in the top 6.
Plus all the Parky bashers having a nervous breakdown when we are 9th in November.
