[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]When you sell your house you don’t wait to get the cash in the bank before looking to buy another property – you do the two deals together !!
Yes, but you make sure you SIGN THE CONTRACTS on the same day. I'm sure we are looking for players, we mave even have some in on trial, but we can't sign them until Bailey has been signed by Boro.
Spot oon Ali.

we have already freed up the wages of Moo2,Dickson etc and so money is there for wages etc
on the presumption that the budget for this season will be the same as last season.
which it isn't.
In reality, it has probably been halved.
But that doesn't fit into Golfie's view of the world so can be ignored.

Large, can I buy your house off you? Do you mind moving out and letting me move in before a few weeks before the contracts are signed? Come on, it's a done deal.
Why not? If you say the deal is going to be done that's the same as done isn't it?
[cite]Posted By: golfaddick[/cite]well I hope that Bailey was at pre-season training today seeing as he is still our player - if not he should be fined a weeks wages !
If he was, you'll be questioning next week why the board haven't used the money saved, bringing in new faces.

He's training with Middlesbrough, have you not been following?
[cite]Posted By: Airman Brown[/cite]If you buy your new house a month before you need it you have to pay the mortgage early too.
Exactly, 700 professional players out there not due to receive a July pay cheque. Clubs realise there is a fair bit of negotiating to be had before they'll feel they have to commit.
Considering some people on here would appear to read the majority of the posts, it amazes me how ignorant they can be.
My understanding is that this season we have a projected £3M loss & as the banks won't lend and the directors are skint, where will that come from to prevent administration ?
Answer :- sales of Bailey & Shelvey.
However, we don't know how much of the fees are up front do we ?
How can we sign players & be obliged to pay their wages until the Bailey deal is signed ?
Do you want a situation like we are just trying to get ourselves out of, where we can't afford the wages ?
Do you want us to go into administration & then possible liquidation ?
I can't believe the ignorance of people that are well informed.
Well Said Covered End. We are in the deep doggy doo and whilst it is painful to see these players go, and in particular Gritty to go (Charton Legend), none of these decisions are easy to make. However Murray did say last season that if we don't go up then we have to reduce our bill from £10 million down to £3 million. The quicker we get to that the point the better. I like most on here are fearful that we could be in administration by xmas.
We HAVE to get to a level where we are running the club on a financial even keel.
Admittengly when I came away from Millwall away I thought "Go Murray go pls go, you are never going to get your money back go into admin now and sell up". On the other side of the coin, who is better to get out of this mess who has had several years of experience of running this cllub then the board themselves.
Some people are too quick to pass judgement. Why is it Park'ys fault? Did he spunk £20 million on rubbish players ?
We got into the play offs on probably the best Div 1 league there has ever been? we missed out on promotion by 2 points (just 2 points). I felt we were 3-4 players short of a promotion winning team. Is that parky's fault? No, so please let us all get behind Parky and give him all the support he needs and deserves.
He turned around a complete mess and is trying to REBUILd a team whereby a club has not got a pot to urinate in.
I will be sad if he goes to Leicester. However mney may dictate that he will have to go there.
I take pride and look at Millwall, not coz i like them as a club but gives us hope. It took them 13yrs to srt out their mess and got promoted. If that is what it takes then that is what it will take
we support the club through good times and bad.. whoever is in charge?
nolly, only person saying everything is OK is you.
It's precisely because most people realise just how un-OK things are (see covered end's post) that they are amazed that Large and Golfie refuse to accept that no money is going out until the club is 100% sure that the money needed to cover new players wages is coming in.
It might be like a breath of fresh air to let the kids loose this season and see what they re made of. Obviously they need some experience around them but you know they will be trying their hardest Other teams pitch youngsters in .Why not us? The old adage if theyre good enough theyre old enough.
To be fair to Parkinson he brought players in late last summer are we had a very good start to the season.
As these players are going to be earning close to £10,000 a month I see no reason to be paying them for the month of July when the season doesn't start until August.
I think that, at this point, we need to trust those running the club. In the end the is nothing else we can do, anyway.
When Parky said be had several deals lined up I didn't realize they would all be sales...
Sure, there's a few hundred clubless players out there all looking for a job but they're not without a job because they're top notch players, they are the dross that no-one else wants or can afford....
Even if there was a few decent players amongst them, are they likely to want to sign for a club that's widely predicted to go into administration by Christmas...
We cutting the cloth to live within our means, financially that's a good idea, in football terms a veritable disaster...

c'mon Ben we're not bloody stupid. However, I still can't understand that everyone says it is not yet a done deal but he's training with Boro. How ? It's not a done deal. Not as if he is a freebie and out of contract. He is still contracted to us. Our pre-season started today and he should have been there. We are still paying his wages so perhaps he should start earning them. You can't have it both way's. This moment whose player is he ? Ours. So get your arse down the training ground Nicky.
send the contract and get the fat drunk Boro chairman to put his cigar out, get the floosy off the top of him, put his drink with an umbrella in it down and sign the papers.......
we need this cash...
Karma will bite you sir, when boro fals through the trap door, and your scrabbling to sign some of the wrost players in history..
Should Bailey be training with anyone? I thought we kept potential sales wrapped up in cotton wool (a la Shelvey). If he got injured up there then, presumably, as he's still our player and there's no legally binding contract in place, we would have to carry on paying him, potentially to the next transfer window in January.

Unfortunately, in deals like these the signature may have to be "witnessed" by other top club officials to satisfy regulatory requirements - hence the need to wait for Mr. Lamb to return from holidays.
Don't know if its true or even possible but could it not be that while the deal is not 'officially' done, Boro have said they already want Bailey up there training with their team as part of the deal?
Comments
The only thing needing shifting is his weight!!!!
This is not how we do it.
We make the deals happen and only announce when it's all done and dusted.
Why would we want to raise awareness about availability of certain players to then allow ourselves to be outbid.
I'm pretty sure the board are doing all they can to increase our numbers so let's lose some of the sniping

Rant over.
I promise no more posts until either the Welling game OR we announce a new signing.

Why not go and play some golf, Golfie? ...... it's a good time of year, sunny days, time to play and let go.
Come back in a couple of weeks.
We'll all still be here chewing the cud.
;o)
It then takes several weeks to get them playing as a team and we're down at the bottom of the table.
If we can't afford good players the scouting system should be identifying young hungry players to fight for places.
Obviously they need some experience around them but you know they will be trying their hardest
