[cite]Posted By: Groucho78MFC[/cite]My point is that OohAhh is like a big man with Napoleon Syndrome. It doesnt make sense. We know you're bigger. You know you're bigger. Why the constant need to feel you have to prove it? No one's arguing.
that free thinker fella was trying to argue a point ....
i'm only pointing out facts , i appreciate that we are historically a bigger and better club and it's respectable that you accept that , a lot wouldn't and a lot of my millwall mates pipe up now when they've been quiet for years and i doff my/(your flat) cap to those of you who accept that
but i don't like it when millwall fans try and lord it over charlton when for years i haven't bothered to mention how shit they are cos we were literally leagues apart
of course SLL your time following your club has been fun on a banter level but we all have different aspirations for our clubs and fair play to you for supporting them through it but as a fan of a more successful club it is a lot harder to take the rough times when they're this rough
but i'll be there through thick and thin i've been a season ticket holder for 26 years now so that aint ever gonna change
[cite]Posted By: Curb_It[/cite]I think you did... wish he would.
It gets worse for you. I'm going to be sat next to you at a certain matrimonial ceremony later this year. We're going to have so much fun. Or at least I am. And that's all that matters really!

It's been fun on more than a banter level mate. Probably the most successful 25 years of in our history! Can't help it if we're smaller and not able to compete in the premiership. Most clubs in the country are the same.
You need to start enjoying Charlton for what it is and what it offers you, not just the football side. If we lose on the 29th I won't be crying or moaning about not being promoted, I'll be waiting in anticipation for the fixture list so we can organise our trip to Rochdale and be keeping my fingers crossed that we have Exeter away on a Saturday so we can make a weekend of it....much better than planning trips to Old Trafford, Anfield and Emirates....ahem....
atm i think groucho is 75% male 24% female 1% hermaphrodite .... i'll up date it after each comment so you will all know what eventually he/she/it is ;-)

Would ya?
Yes, you would!
Wo wo wo, easy tiger, I don't think I've even met you!
I'm looking forward to Rochdale, Bournemouth, Peterborough and Rotherham/Dagenham prefer them a hell of a lot more than Man Utd, Bolton, Blackburn etc. Brighton's new ground opens in 2011/2012, that will be a great ground as well. Ohharr's opinion is a different.

no he's not, not unless 'she' likes going on benders with big groups of lads in albufeira, as mentioned on a thread on here a few days ago http://www.charltonlife.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=34570

Aim low? What do you want Millwall fans to aspire to?
To become a boring, sanitised Premiership club? With season ticket prices out of our price range? With the stadium filled with tarquin's and florence's? To have every game moved for Sky TV? No atmosphere to speak of? Every person wandering around in a replica shirt clinging to their overweight guts and wearing scarves in the summer? Paying £50 to watch my team at Spurs or Arsenal? To watch us aim each season to finish above 17th or higher? To start living beyond our means so that when the "dream" ends we're up shit creek without a paddle? To be part of Scudamore's parasitic league and adopt his greedy attitudes? To be surrounded by fans that are only coming to watch the teams we are playing against rather than to watch Millwall? To start seeing our traditional support be slowly eased out of the way to be replaced by the middle classes who get to the ground at 2pm, buy lots of merchandise and use the kiosks, who sit meekly and clap the team, who turn the ground into yet another soulless characterless football ground and then all leave 5 minutes before the end to catch their tube or train before it gets busy? To see the prices become so expensive that I can't take my family? To start going away games that are in big concrete bowls, where you have to sit down all game, where the atmosphere is quiet, where the players don't give a f*ck, where you get a tut tut if you stand up and support your team?
You want us to aim for that? You can have it mate. I like the small successes we get, I like going to the grounds with a bit of charm, the rickety stands & terraces, the little burger bars being staffed by proper locals, the cheaper tickets, the more industrial language and smaller crowds, the local pubs in little towns rather than the chains & gastro pubs that open up all around new grounds, I like travelling away with people that are going for the love of Millwall, not because we're going to see Arsenal or Chelsea, it's not about aiming low. We could never hope to be anything much more than what you were in the premiership. Even you can't believe you can ever improve on that. Give me our promotions and play-offs, our relegations, our topsy turvy existence, our trips to Hartlepool or Elland Road, Plymouth or Cardiff, our glorious cup runs every decade, our amazing results every now & then against the vermin, give me that rather than a year after year plod of trying to finish between 8th and 17th in the prem.

I agree with what you're saying mate but you can't tell us you wouldn't like at least one season up there with the big boys? Ask Blackpool and Cardiff fans if they want promotion on saturday or another season going to Barnsley and Scunthorpe.
[cite]Posted By: oohaahmortimer[/cite]each to their own SLL ..... i'm sure the Hull fans are preparing that same speech now for their inevitable demise into oblivion
I agree with a lot of the sentiment SLL but if that was the case we would all be following Welling or Bromley.
I dont think that many Fulham fans were complaining in Hamburg before the game last week mate.
"This is boring now, can't even be bothered to read the posts"
You know what the answer to that is then?....

Incidentally, i appreciate the human element of the gender breakdown. I actually had you down as 51% Mini Metro, 48% Excel spreadsheet, and 1% Breville toaster. Likewise, this may change. Watch this space.
I'd be more than happy if Millwall NEVER got to the Prem in my lifetime, as unlikely as it is anyway. I just can't bring myself to crave something i've never experienced. A cup final ruined our club. So a year in the Prem? Sod that!
Groucho. Any team in the division above us is a bigger team. I spose it depends how you define big as a football club. Tickets nubers or quality? Quality most teams are bigger than us atm.
