Having read all the stories on here particularly from those who have done the vast majority of away games I am really gutted for you and hope that a spare ticket or two can be found for you.
As soon as I read how the tickets were too be distributed yesterday it was obvious to me this was going to cause problems, in fact I thought it looked like Old Trafford 94 all over again. As a result I had to change my lots original plans for one of our mates to go down after work, and had to arrange for Shirty 5 to go straight to The Valley at 7 this morning fresh from a 12 hour night shift. Cheers mate we would have been locked out without your help!
The club has truly messed up the whole allocation, and has been rightly pointed out by many on here there should have been 1 days chance for season ticket holders with a certain number of away games. The club has constantly gone on about getting red card numbers detailed for all games this season as well as having pretty much the vast majority of away games before this having restricted sales in order to look after the regular away followers. When we have the biggest away game of the season so far the club has scrapped that and left a bitter taste in the mouth for many.
The most frightening thing I find of the whole episode is I shelled out over £2K in March for a 5 year Season Ticket. The main reason why I purchased the ticket was liked the fact that it would give me priority for away tickets. Now I am not saying that should have happened on this occasion as the ticket starts from August. But who is say the club will not do this again in the future meaning the ticket I have bought would have been missold?
As Steve Waggott has now publicly stated on 2 occasions he works 24/7 perhaps he should miss Fridays game to have a well earned rest and give his Directors Box tickets for some of the ones who have missed out on here.
[cite]Posted By: suzisausage[/cite]I actually think there was an emergency football league or premier league MD/ceo meeting this morning although not 100% sure.
Talk of the Championship clubs breaking away from the Football League ? rumours doing the rounds today to that effect .................. money in football once again tearing the fabric apart !
paulsturgess said "Covered End very sorry to hear you missed out, cannot say anything that hasn't already been said above about the stupidity of the club. Just hope that they can make up for it somehow with a victory at Wembley with everybody in attendance.
...am interested to know why you didn't go to Millwall away though out of interest?! "
It was a fellow Charlton supporters 40th birthday & 5 of us went to Bruges for a long weekend. Still sat in a bleedin sports bar on the Saturday afternoon "watching" us get thrashed on Soccer Saturday !
perhaps someone could have a quiet word with the players and get them to 'donate' their comps plus any other staff, such as Waggott, who are not actually Charlton fans would be willing to give their's up.

This is beyond a joke how much of a cock up this is.
People moan about VG holders getting priority when small allocations/important games come up but they are the ones doing the poxy mid-week away games at far flung ends of the country so deserve priority.
2 positives and 2 positives only can be taken
1) The girl who served me at the ground was an absolute, total, FOX 2) The games on SKY

I am very sorry that you were unable to get tickets for the away game and, as you would expect, demand was incredibly high and our systems were creaking to cope with the volume of people both at The Valley and over the phone.
With an allocation of only 2,000 tickets it was always going to be difficult to satisfy everyone and unfortunately that has proved to be the case with all tickets being sold within a few hours.
We have discussed this point tonight at a Target 40,000 meeting and will internally evaluate the decision making process in an attempt to reduce some of the issues that have arisen from today but I reiterate that we were faced with the very difficult task of balancing the ticket allocation received from Swindon with the high level of demand from our supporters.
I understand your frustration and anger and once again apologise that all your efforts were in vain but I hope we can get through the semi final stage so that all those associated with Charlton can have a day out at Wembley with the hope that we regain our Championship status at the first time of asking.

So that's ok then!!!!
'as you would expect, demand was incredibly high'. If that was the case, why not put systems in place to manage the demand in a fairer way?

I would have to agree with you those that have followed Charlton away for more than 4 games then they should of been given tickets first. And it doesn't affect me living so far away and only got to one game all season.
Well done for responding but it's a cop out in my opinion. It doesn't address the fundamental issue of prioritisation and restrictions other than 'we'll look into it for the future'
Chaps been to 12 away games this season , valley gold ,season ticket got my home leg ticket as soon as they asked but alas no swindon away ticket .... its no good crying over spilt milk just hope the club learn form the experience ......yer like right how many time have they scored an own goal in the past .... is it me but do we as a club sometimes panic when we need to make a quick call on something even though we could all see a call had to be made weeks prior ....good luck to the lads and just hope they bring a result back to the Valley.....and to the lucky few going if it large anyone watching it up the City on the night
Steve Kavanagh was at the FL meeting yesterday. SW wasn't. I understand it is true he arrived on site at 1.15 or thereabouts. Henry is in regular contact with SW, so he might want to ask him about his involvement with this process, but I'll assist him by saying that it was, as usual, zero.
The policy was wrong. It's not my call but over many years I have been able to make an informed input to ticket priorities, so I accept some of the blame. I got it changed from general sale on Saturday night but I should have argued for tighter restrictions. In all honesty, if I hadn't been busy elsewhere last week I would probably have been able to challenge this. But commercial centre staff would still argue that a more complex process was not possible and they are the ones at the sharp end, not me.
What has been exposed is an inadequate decision-making process, in which middle managers are exposed by a lack of support above them. No senior manager was on site yesterday morning. Someone clearly had to attend the FL meeting because there were important issues on the table. So the question remains, where was Waggott and what was he doing?
This is not an isolated event. The staff do not believe he plays any significant role in the running of the club and this is the cause of much I'll feeling across the staff. It is not the self-interested complaint of a disaffected minority. It is a view held at every level.
Firstly, don't agree with the reasons given by 24/7 and will write later on it, but whether you agree with the points or not, i think credit should be given for a prompt, personal reply at what is a busy time.
True AFKA, credit to him for replying as i don't think anyone even expected a response, but the reply is still unacceptable. 'Demand was incredibly high', what did they expect it's a play off game! And with demand being incredibly high why make the decision to allow season ticket holders to buy TWO tickets each?!!

Thank you for your letter, blah blah blah, I have checked our accounts and can confirm we know you will continue to pump money into this club no matter what we do. Therefore I have no interest in you or your complaint, although I might see you at Wembley if you manage to get a ticket - look out for me in the posh seats.

Slight misjudgement on your part there mate! ;)
All this whilst supporters are remembering The Valley Party. Where would the club be now without the loyal supporters?

Not a happy bunny at all
Written an email to complain just to let of some steam but know it's pointless.
I've seen and experienced many bad decisions in my work over the years but this level of incompetence takes some beating.
Crazy decision to do what they did and their pathetic excuses are just that.

I bet he puts restrictions in place if we get to Wembley and get 45000 tickets
Hope someone with a bit of common sense gets his job.
