I was watching a stream and then realised it was on the red button live here in Aus, been on an all dayer and was so delighted, JOSE SEMEDO IS A MAGICIAN, was so impressed to see him play so well... the surprise triple sub, mooney has a got real class about him he really has, and the goal, THE GOAL, I ended up doing a henry hill from goodfellas smacking the wall with my palm, amazing, the valley looked wonderful so faull on the box, the perfromance, this is why we support charlton, this is why charlton is the best foorball club the world, its just fantastic, Im so happy with everything, reading these posts through a hangover haze laughing, this will keep me happy all week easy... love it
Still on a high this morning.Happy the team ,especially the back, is looking more and more solid. The agression and tackling were excellent. This team will not be physically intimidated. Frazier looked powerful surging forward. He has fought back his injury and is back to his early season form. His touch can be a bit heavy sometimes but overall was one of the best yesterday.Dailley has added a lot of bite to his tactical excellence.I think the defence learnt a lot from the Millwall defeat. We have the makings of another great goalkeeper. His leap and save yesterday was pure class. But my man of the match was Semedo. He was immense. His strenght ,drive ,covering and linkup play were excellent. When he is in that form he galvanises the whole team. Apko looked strong but the forward line selection will depend on which team we will be playing. Finally what price Borrowdale to break his duck at Wembley? He's getting closer and closer.I've got this feeling...........................................
The funniest thing is that the spanners are still concrentrating on what Leeds will do next week.
They honestly think they will just roll Swindon over after getting spanked by Yeovil, Huddersfield and Tranmere...
Just gotta hope Leeds/Millwall/Swindon are worried about what they are all doing. Pressure is off us and Huddersfield so lets get our job done and hope the others f*** it up.
If not, play offs are all about momentum, and Millwall are the only one in those places that havent got any.
Suffering this morning...but what a game! Very good team performance, showing commitment to the cause and passion. Parky got the substitutions right this time as well. The crowd responded in kind and it was the best atmosphere at the Valley so far this season IMHO. From looking on the BBC Parky has paid tribute to the fans for the support. Keep it up Addicks we can be the preverbial 12th man. I've got my ticket for Oldham and have my fingers firmly crossed for another good performance, 3 points and some favourable results elsewhere. COYR!
The Upper West got us Siddarnistas in the West Stand up on our feet to proclaim our love for Charlton. Don't remember that happening since the Cup match against Palace. Passion everywhere, just so happy for everyone.
What a treat that was. Coming from so far to come to my first game in years (and bringing non-Addick family members!), it was easy to build up this game with unrealistic expectations, but each and every one was met, and how!
Wonderful, comprehensive effort by all, but as others have noted, Dailly stood out for me, but as we were seated in the NWQ, the danger that Reid brought to the wing was readily apparent to the most casual observer. I couldn't help but think that the more touches that he got, the better things would turn out for us.
As was already posted, "own goal my arse".
Hard to believe that the atmosphere isn't that good all the time. My wife was along, and although I do subject her to the football all the time, isn't exactly a devout follower of the game or of Charlton, but she too had a great day out.
When I left the Valley (hopefully not for so long this time as since the last!), everyone was just so positive, and happy with a great effort and a great result, and all I could find myself thinking was that this truly is a great club, with a great atmosphere. This, more than anything else, is what the club, the board and all of us as the fans have to defend.
Take care of this club, and for those of you lucky enough to go, enjoy next weekend. As the bulletin points out, we have no details to offer you for a playoff match, that we hope will never happen! I feel good about how this will turn out, but all we can do is our part.
No 1 Son tells me in no uncertain terms that he doesn't want to go. Poor lad, he is having a bit of a difficult time at the moment. Can't leave him as my wife is going out with No 1 Daughter to a party.
Decided to finish off a proposal for a Graphic Designers energy bill. Shaved £500 a year off their current prices! ...:-)
No 1 Son tells me he wants to go. Can't find my season tickets anywhere! Searched high and low for nearly an hour.
Set off anyway, about an hour later without the tickets. Arranged to meet Henry in the East at 2.50pm to collect some stuff for my lad that Henry had got for him from the dinner last week. Sat Nav kept recalculating the time later and later. Finally got to ticket office by 2.50pm and in the ground to meet Henry just before kick off!
Terrible slip from Sam Sodje very early on saved by Gandulf The Orange. Then I felt Leeds got on top, not by a mile but they pushed up on us and penned us in. We made this worse by defending so deep. Then came Burtons block which was crucial.
Second half we bossed the game for long periods. The substitutions for both teams changed the game. Leeds went three at the back and we put on more power and pace. The crowd were fantastic, both sets of supporters.
The goal really raised the roof, followed by Reids free kick which would have sealed it. Then came the save of the season, or many seasons. It was the power of the header and the fact that he had to react so quickly, leap high and left and get the ball over the bar - awesome!
Then the celebrations at the end. Glad I persevered, decided to go. No 1 Son was full of it on the way back. Great occasion. Even had time to phone my Spanner mate and wind him up.
We have some momentum, which has to be good, whatever happens next week!
An excellent team performance & a richly deserved win.
Brilliant save by Randolph at the end to clinch victory.
Congratulations to Parky & the team.
Terrific atmosphere, the best all season. People around me in the West Upper were joining in, which never happens!
Superb performance and battered them for most of the game. Atmosphere was fantastic and looking round the stadium it was hard to believe it was a 3rd division match.
Semedo was immense and looked like maradonna at one point when he walked through there midfield and shot.
Well done to all of the players and to parkinson. Great performance and tremendous result.
Spoke to my mate who was at millwall tranmere and he sounded desolate and said if we meet in the play offs we would beat them the way they have been playing lately.
Really hope this boosts the team for the play offs if it doesnt already go our way next week.
Semedo is on fire at the moment, every pass & tackle is spot on. Got frustrated with Racon bottling a few early tackles and then he found his way into the game and eventually looked really up for it. Back four were superb. Randolphs injury time save was stunning. As much as i agree he makes an impact when coming on, i think Reid has to be pushing for a start. Unbelieeeevable tekkers for his free kick.
i think we took a risk with all 3 subs at once as but it worked so wel done for being brave parky,
however it also showed that we need to play wingers on the left not bailey or racon and move bailey back into the centre mid if we are going to play 442 then we need the balance right Sam Semedo Bailey Reid then we have strength vision and pace all very balanced the back 4 looked mighty fine yesterday i have always worried about our strikers scoring enough but with 4 games to go potentially i think if we get balanced we have enough to really try to get out of this league if the balance is not right in the playoffs we will not succeed imo
I haven't enjoyed a game that much in such a long time. Really enjoyed yesterday, went absolutely nuts when the goal went in and the atmosphere was amazing in the second half, we can make the place really rock on occasions.
Such a good time for a result like that though. Got absolutely drenched on the way back, never been so soaked through. Stopped at The Pickwick for a couple and got chatting to some Leeds fans who were really impressed with the atmosphere at The Valley and are very pessimistic about the rest of the season, they reckon the only way they will go up is 2nd as they will bottle the playoffs and they were certain that they will bottle next week as well.
i cant see any other team going up in 2nd than them
did you see beckford arguing with their fans for not giving the ball back quick enough for a corner, a fair few of them were calling him a w****r you would have thought they hated him not the way to treat a 30 goal a season forward

gotta agree nla with the four man midfield you have mentioned. Dont think Racon has done anything wrong, hes played well, but as someone mentioned earlier, we dont get enough men in the box breaking from midfield. Bailey playing central would provide this, and Reid is too good to play as a cameo.

Of course he's too good. But Reid's not been fit enough to start games recently. Hopefully he will recover enough to start in the play off games.
Reid it's not so much that he's "too good", he's just the only natural left footed left winger. Bailey can only "do a job" on the left. As said he's not been 100% fit, but I think he may well stay on the bench. It's great to be able to bring that type of player on full of energy, he can do things late in a game that he won't get the space to do early on.
[cite]Posted By: RodneyCharltonTrotta[/cite]Semedo was immense and looked like maradonna at one point when he walked through there midfield and shot.
He can do that, he did it at Tranmere and scored, so the question is why does he venture forward so rarely? I know it's not his primary role but there is no reason why players can't try the unexpected if they are capable of doing so, which he has proved he is.
It was a brave move by Parky to bring on the 3 subs at the same time, and it paid off handsomely. The injection of pace, power and skill in the forward line made a huge difference. Once the goal went in we suddenly started looking dangerous whenever we attacked. This team, with an injection of some self belief could surprise a few people. I hope lessons have been learned by the players, Parky and the crowd.
The players : You are easily good enough to get out of this division, believe in yourselves.
Parky : No risk, no reward.
The crowd : Lift the atmosphere at the Valley like it was yesterday, and the players will respond.
[cite]Posted By: Valley McMoist[/cite]I can't help thinking that if we'd had a Holt, Paynter or Austin we would have been up already.
Could well have made enough difference.
Every team in the top 6 has two decent strikers, we have the 10-15 goals a season striker in Burton, but we're the only team there without the 20+ striker.
Great day, best game of the season for me and good to see The Valley jumping again! It's games like that really makes you miss "mid-table mediocrity" in the Premier League. Best atmosphere we've had down The Valley for a few years.
A fairly even first half, perhaps with Leed's edging it slightly, but we dominated the second and were worthy winners, could have been 3 or 4.
The referee was a joke, the game was too big for him and he was too easily intimated by the Leeds players and easily conned by some of their cheating, especially from Becchio.
We're going to need some real luck next week but even if we are to go through the Playoffs I'm so confident of winning them as we are just getting better and better with every game at the moment.

This should have been posted in the new takeover thread.
