• dont give millwall ideas
• Say you're a Millwall fan and you say to your little five year old son or daughter 'I'll take you to football today". You get yourself sorted, go to the ground, and turn a corner and encounter that stuff outside the stadium. What do you tell your child....'it's a lesson in life, that's the way it is at football' ?
[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]Any one fancy going down Oxford Street this lunchtime.

Drink a few cans and then hurl abuse at the Tourist buses full of yanks. Nothing too serious just some Nescafe signs, screamed insults and swearing plus chuck a few bottles and cans at them.

I know they are just tourists but it was their country that invaded Iraq so I think they've got it coming. What do they expect if they come to our main shopping area?

Choice, can you video it and stick it up on Youtube as I'm sure people will be impressed.

And as it's half term bring the kids. Show them how it's done and make them proud of you.
ok then, what time? am in the mood for giving some nescafe signals to some yanks, just a bit of harmless fun and they give as good as they get

All harmless fun. If the Yanks get upset just then they need to get real.
• I think SLL has a point actually. If I was walking down Charlton Church Lane and they shut off the entrance to Floyd Road to allow the away fans in on their coaches and a mass gathering of Charlton fans gathered due to the hold up there would be more than a few wanker signs and it wouldn't shock me to see missiles thrown. We have more than our fair share of fans with that mentality.
Leeds fans on the coaches would I'm sure have been "giving it the biggun" from inside the coaches and the Millwall fans were giving it back. It's not something I see any point in but I can't see it it being much different in our own little paradise.
• except it doesn't happen RedArmy and that's the point.
• the second coach was leeds' juniors one
• I'm convinced that if Palace/Millwall had to get coaches to us this would happen. Maybe not on the same scale but there would be an element for sure. I doubt the Millwall fans do this at home to Leyton Orient but like it or not the Leeds game is a big game for them because of the violence surrounded with the two sides. I think it's all a bit sad but having seen the "welcome" Leeds gave Millwall up at Elland Road on YouTube I'd say on the whole Millwall were pretty calm there.

I've seen plenty of coaches of away fans receive abuse from Charlton fans.....
• At least SE7 and Stu give a bit more of a balanced and reasoned view!

A few hand signs is hardly going to give children nightmares and frighten them for life. You think they don't see all that outside Elland Road for big games?

There is worse name calling, teasing & insults in the playground at primary school than there was in that video.

Surprised there isn't a petition on here to shut Tottenham down to protect all the children there from hearing the nasty chants aimed at Wenger last night.

If you want to talk about immaturity and child like behaviour, look no further than posts calling Millwall fans spanners, Millsmall, Millscum etc and all the stereotypical insults and jibes that people spew on here! Good job I'm not 8 years old otherwise I might run home to my mummy crying!

• In a bizare kind of way I am finding this thread interesting as there are a lot of mixed comments, for what its worth:

I do not think the Millwall fans are doing anything that does not happen at most grounds up and down the country, shouting abuse and a few w*****r signs is nothing is it, ok a glass or a bottle was thrown but that is a common scene in most high streets now at chucking out time.

The old bill come in for a lot of stick now days including from our fans at Southampton last week, what would have happened if they had waded in and nicked a few guys for the above and in the process it turned into a mini riot, all the coppers I could see were on horses, they have a tough job and its a tough call, would it really be worth it for a five knuckle shuffle sign?

Henry, your example is way off the mark because it is not the norm to abuse coach loads of tourists in the west end, however I would say it is the norm for football fans to abuse coach loads of rival fans, I would even go as far to say it happens a great deal on motorways when a car or van has a scarf hanging out the window.

Last but not least to say it doesnt happen at the Valley is nonsense, I sit in "D" block in the East stand approx 10 rows from the front, to my left towards the front there are numerous lads and grown men who stand up and face the away end shouting abuse and giving the w*****r sign, sometimes double handed and the stewards do nothing, if it is happening inside the ground I am certain it is happening outside as well.

I do not condone this sort of behaviour so please do not take my comments the wrong way but anyone who thinks that You tube clip is a one off for Millwall is way off the mark.
• I personally find the whole 'handshake' thing deeply embarrassing to witness from grown men. Some of our lot seemed to spend the whole day on Saturday doing it to the Saints fans and, in fairness, receiving it back. Just don't get why an adult would spend time and money getting to a game only to pay minimal attention to what's going on on the pitch preferring instead to shake their wrist at several 1000 strangers they don't know from Adam. Weird.
• Make your right bournemouth. I cringe when i see tavern doing it.
• Surely this has got to be unsunk for that comment alone. PMSL!

I know all blokes do it, but surprised you've "outed" Tavern :-)
• whoops. :-)

basically in a nutshell and for the benefit of Sparrows Lane Addick Lion, one of your own (fans) has posted this video onto you tube. unless you are a millwall supporter what can you expect from all who see it? it would be unrealistic for you to think that a supporter of any other club would say anything positive about it...because millwall fans and millwall fans alone have created the reputation that goes before you today. we are just taking the opportunity here to run down your small club a little more as its the first opportunity weve had since we let you beat us a month ago.

personally the old days were all about a hostile reception at away matches, being escorted in etc, its all part of the fun of an away day so i cant imagine anybody here giving a toss about a few w***** signs and a bit of chanting, but the point is do you really think that the Leeds hardcore mob travelled down by coach for that game? Maybe the millwall fans in the video were there because it was safer to be in the vicinity of the den rather than anywhere near the incoming trains from yorkshire.

your past glories have created a rod for your own back and mud sticks.

Choice - the small mob of Leeds that did travel tucked themselves up in Surrey Docks early doors, were confronted by a mob quickly thrown together and plod steamed in before it went too far.

So that was the end of that, several hours before that video.
• You seem to be very well informed SLL.

Nick nick.
• So, Millwall fans make a few hand gestures and two items get thrown....Huddersfield made a stockpile of weapons outside a pub and bricked two official supporters coaches and one minibus on it's way to the ground...still, what we did was probably worse.
