  • A left back i take it?
  • Great, another ex-Palace defender. Perhaps we can get Nigel Martyn and Simon Edworthy in as well.

    Yes, link to OS
  • My palace mate said he was there for a while, fills a gap but not much more.

I wonder what position parky will play him in?
  • Gives Youga 28 days to get match fit I guess.

He won player of the year there.
  • Best we can get, rather him than poor solly playing left back! Hasnt played much football in a while which is worrying.
  • has Youga had a set-back then I wonder. Maybe not, maybe just not ready yet. Good to see that one of our best performers last week, Chris Solly, has had to fall on his sword. Parky seems to have no trouble sourcing a RB or LB but a decent striker is another matter entirely.
  • We need a left back he is a left back.

  • we need a striker, we get Sodje and Mooney instead

Unfortunately with Akpo and Mooney here we won't look to get another striker in.

Do you not think it's probably easier finding a back up full back from a Championship team than a good striker? Not that I'm excusing the signings of Akpo and Mooney, but it's a lot harder finding a good, cheap, goalscoring striker, especially in March.

As well as Solly might have done I agree with that. We're signing loanees in positions we need, not just for the sake of it.

Young player of the year to be precise.
  • Grrrrrreat. Time left to sign a striker with legs connected to his brain?

Young player of the year in a not great side.
  • Just seen he played 12 times in this league for Brighton last season so at least he knows the division. Can't knock the signing, we need a left back and we've gone and signed one.

It's only for a month by which time Youga will hopefully have played 2 or 3 reserve games and a couple of 1st team subs appearances. When he's fit, Borrowdale will go back.

On the subject of loanees i see Huddersfield are trying to sign Steve Howard from leicester, now there is a loan signing we could do with.
  • Anyway we could get a message to Parky re Steve Howard...he'd make a difference up top.
  • Steve Howard would be a real handful...espcially with our lump it style of play.
  • Like I said, we won't get a striker with Mooney and Akpo already here. Not that I don't think we could do with one.

Hopefully we go back to Shelvey behind Burton and it won't be so much of a problem.
  • Its only a phonecall to send Mooney back. Same applys with Akpo.

  • Good signing for League One and probably would be for some Championship sides.

Well Millwall couldn't send McLeod back, didn't Peterborough try as well? Maybe we can but it might not even be possible.

If we sent anyone back it'd have to be Mooney. Akpo although generally being rubbish, is still capable of nicking the odd goal and with our financial situation i think he'll be here permanently next season.

Agreed - that would be a brilliant signing. I thought conceding goals was Huddersfield's main problem.

Says he is still waiting to score his first senior goal so Parky will probably play him up front ;-)
  • Why wasn't he signed this time last week?
  • Our left backs over the past few years:

    Thatcher- Always injured
    McEvelerly- Injured aftera few games
Youga- Out for 4 months of this season
    Basey- Out for the season
Jackson- Injured after a few games

    I fear for Borrowdale!

This time last week Parky had the lads locked in the training ground drilling into them the fight, spirit, attitude, and temprement that will be required to get a result at the New Den.

Edit: this was in reply to DFT
