    Swadlings on Rushy Green in catford used to be a local institution. Sold toys and prams, the huge silver cross coachbuilt ones.

    I think Showell Bros toyshop in Eltham High street has long since gone too.

    Yep.

    One at Victoria Station also, when I worked there in the early 80s .

    Greasy Jones, we used to call it. And every train journey home in the evening stank of horseburgers and greasy chip fat, as starving commuters stuffed their faces.

    Made your stomach heave.

    Years ago it was about the only place locally you could get grub once the pubs shut.

    Then the Star of India opened in Eltham High Street. Is that still there?
