Not a latest film but watched Law Abiding Citizen and without doubt one of the most stupid and pointless films I have ever seen. Had to have a shower afterwards I felt so dirty after sitting through that junk!
If you like British horror and fancy a chuckle to some seriously dark humour check out new to DVD, 'Inbred'. Watched it this afternoon and thought it was mint! Not sure the Yorkshire Tourist Board will approve though.
Saw Skyfall last night, great film. Never been much of a cinema goer but FFS, we arrive at 8pm for an 8.15pm showing and the adverts went on for 40 minutes. I have never heard such an audible sigh of collective relief in my life from the audience when the film actually started. I thought I had turned up a day early!

Just see Amour, the Palme d'Or winner at Cannes by Michael Haneke, the Austrian director who did The White Ribbon. Subject matter a little harrowing but very good.
The Raid on Blu Ray. Superb action packed martial arts film. Quite violent and some of the fight scenes made me wince. Worth a look if stuck for a flick.
Argo, really enjoyable and the 2 hours flew by. I'd say 10% of the story is actually factual and it gets a bit ridiculous towards the end but very watchable.
Watched Winter In Wartime on netflix, brilliant film, wonderully shot and has one of the finest lead performances i've ever seen by a teenager. Well worth watching if you are into ww2 films
My expectations were lowered by some of the reviews it got but have to say I really enjoyed it. Very much in the LOTR vein but with more humour thrown in. Haven't read the book in over 30 years and tbh couldn't remember much about but no doubt the plot upset a few purists.
Paid for the 3D showing and for the first time felt that it was actually worth the money as it looks spectacular.

Really? Like most things it's a matter of personal opinion but I saw it on Saturday also in 3D and quite honestly my only thought on walking out of the cinema was "there's 3 hours of my life I'll never get back".
I'm glad you enjoyed it but I have to say I thought it the most long drawn out unbelievably boring film I've seen in very long time and I'm a huge Tolkien fan.
The 3D is third rate imo, the acting is shocking especially Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield, closely followed by Martin Freeman as Bilbo. As for the liberties taken with the text which as far as I could see were just there to pad the film to what is considered to be a reasonable length these days - especially the introduction of characters who play no part in the story of The Hobbit but who are shoe horned in merely to give a link to LOTR.
I do agree it's a bit flabby and cutting out the first 45 mins down to about 10 would have improved it but I was surprised myself that it held my attention.
As far as acting, well, all these things are 'ham'ed up to the max anyway so I wasn't expecting much to start with.
Fair comment BA but given that you can read the entire book in 3 hours I really can't see how nine hours on film will work. Having said that however I will no doubt pay to watch the next two and eventually buy the directors cut DVD boxed set.
Just because I was disappointed in it doesn't stop me being a geek:)
Saw The Hobbit (in 2D) and enjoyed it ... didn't think it too long at all. I though Martin Freeman was the perfect hobbit ... way better than Elijah Wood who never really worked for me. Agree with JWAddick ... Richard Armitage is poor. Gandalf still played superbly by Ian McKellen ... and Gollum better than ever.
At this stage, not as good as LOTR ... but didn't expect that to be honest.
Looking forward to part 2 (and 3). Pity so far apart.
If you are expecting a direct portrayal of the book, forget it.

Just one (grudging) * from me I'm afraid.
