[cite]Posted By: cafcdan18[/cite]Dare I say it, what about Saints. They are on a good run and have a 30 goal striker as well. Not to mention the fact they have just spent over a million on a centre half. Stranger things have happened than them putting real pressure on the current four teams at the top
Too far back for automatic promotion. They won't make up 20 points on us and 23 on Norwich in half a season.
However i do think they'll make the play offs and if they don't go up this year will be huge favourites for the title next season.
I agree with Chris and think they will be favourites to win the play offs, with their semi final being between them and 3rd place - us or Norwich. How come they have just come out of admin and they can spend all that cash, did they pay off their debtsor did the small guys have to take a pence in the pound deal?
The debts were paid pretty full I think. The overall deal for the club was 'over £30m' and our debts were £32m. Who knows.
Like many have said, auto is very much out of Southampton's reach this season. The play offs isn't however. But I don't reckon we will get there with the current squad, if we did we would bottle it.
Leeds, Norwich and Charlton will be the three that go up.

I'm interested to know why you think Saints will bottle it with their current squad, which is probably one of the strongest squads in the division?
[quote][cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]don't believe the SLP. That article is fundamentally wrong. We paid a fee for Matt Spring, signed by Parky.[/quote]
has always had an element of being dependent on players going out, so we'll have to wait and see. Assuming SLP is right, am i correct in saying we cannot sign any loans till after jan 31st?

You can sign loans now and up to 1 February. Then you can sign loans after 8 Feb until the last week in March.

Thanks Saints fan, hope you are right.
The only topic is to not be on topic!
;o)

Not exactly, Kap.
Any club can sign a player on loan in the January window until 31st Jan.
Then the window is closed for 7 days, I believe ....... then re-opens for non-Prem clubs until about March 25, for loans only.

OS says undisclosed fee
Not only late but wrong.
not any Club as some have transfer embargo's in palace, sorry I mean in place ; - )
Okay, can't argue with that.
Was it revealed in the accounts ending June 2009?
Also kills the myth that Parky has never spent a penny on a transfer fee.
Let's not bring your sex life in to this please ; - )
I bet it gave you great pleasure to write that, Henry.
As 31st January is a Sunday, no doubt the January window will close on 1st Feb?
Closed for 7 days = Feb 8th.
And the last week of March is ...... as that window always shuts on a Thursday, that wouldn't be the 25th, by any chance?
Was pointing out that your statement that ANY CLUB could loan players now is incorrect as some have that well known player M'bargo on their books.
Anyone know what their prospects are at the moment ?
According to the OS last week Youga and Richardson back in training at some level. Mooney getting fitter.
Things looking up then.
They found gold in them thar yonder hills.
Or in The Valley.
I cant believe people are booing again..... feel lik coming down there with a flame thrower and puting their screaming cries on you tube...
The football league would probably copyright it though ; - )
