Bloody hell, I got presented a trophy from him back then an all. I was 22 at the time though!! We won everytihng there was to win that year for my Sunday club and I remember being really out of my face at the time and being proud for not making a tit of myself when I went to collect them.
i got a special Bexley Borough award presented to me at a reception at the Whitehouse garage at Blackfen by Lennie Lawrence, and i can't for the life of me remember what it was for !

Nah, Brook Lane we were called. The oldest player we had was 24 at the time I think. THink we were unbeaten in the 3 years i played for them.

You thought playing for the Junior Reds actually mean't you was a Charlton Schoolboy who would have a chance to progress into Lennie Lawrence's 1st team...
58. You choked up when you heard about Tommy Caton.
Totally agree with that one. Being a Man City and Charlton fan I was utterly devastated to hear that. He was a quality fella and it was just horrible what happened to him. 30 years old. Tragic. RIP
Just out of interest, did you all know that Tommy's 19 year old son Andy is now a Swindon Town player? I wish him all the best in the game

My Grandad was the head barman and then took over the Waterman's Arms pub from around 1966 or so until about 1970! If anyone remembers an Irishman called Paddy Hamilton who used to work there, that's him.
Blimey...some no to but a lot yes to! May I add...if your were in the Stones club talking to your mates saying what a wanker Peter Shaw was, only to find him standing behind you at the bar listening to every word! And by making matters worse by saying 'Hello Pete, good to see you' Toe curling!
169. Saw Tommy Caton's penalty at boro away - nice boro fans then! 170. Went to Hereford away in the cup and remembered it kicking off in the pub! 171. Played for the supporters club at all 172. Flew to a Charlton away game? (ancona, newcastle)
