on a serious note llera and elliott seem to have a problem communicating not just tonight but b4 is it down to the 'cech' headgear impairing llera's hearing
He was unbelievably terrible tonight. "Who's the wanker in the hat," the Colchester fans sang after yet another embarrassing mistake. He should have been subbed after 15 minutes.
One of the worst single performances ive ever seen from a charlton player, he was that bad. Gotta have affected his confidence big time too, having the fans boo you, shout at parky to sub him, singing 'sodje, sodje, sodje' and then cheering when he got subbed. I'd have Sodje in for him at leeds and then when Sodje goes off for international duty put Llera back in and say to him 'look, you got a couple of games while hes away, so work hard, eliminate the mistakes and get yourself back in the team, earn your place'.
Big managers make big decisions, would Ferguson have left Ferdinand out of a winning team cause O'Shea had played in it...No.
Parky should have dropped Llera for the Exeter game and bought Sodje in. Llera has made mistakes in every game he has just been lucky they have not cost goals, today they did. Everyone with any football brain can see that Sodje is a far better defende.
How Llera was not subbed at half time I will never know. It would have given us a chance to shore things up and would have stopped Llera's confidence dissapearing altogether when he was cheered (or is that jeered) off by half the fans after the third goal went in.
Awful, felt a bit sorry for Elliott for copping the grief after the 1st goal especially when i clearly heard him claiming the ball only for Llera to head it goalbound.
yep. Parky made the right subs, eventually. Shame that in each case they were at least 20 minutes too late and maybe longer in Llera's case. Although Llera made mistakes at least he was putting himself in there to make them. Where was Spring ? Total waste of space. And to think he's the only player Parky has actually paid a fee for.
Llera looked worse than the quality Welling were playing at pre season there, I was surprised he kept his starting spot through the start of the season. Has never looked safe, just lucky he's got (most of the time) security next to him in Dailly.
He needs to take that Cech thing off his head as it either makes his head a 20p piece, or that's actually how he heads all the time. If he's played on Sat, he's going to need to play 60x better than tonight, or Beckford will run him ragged within a few minutes let alone 90..
As much as this seems like jumping on an anti Llera bandwagon, he has been awful this season and it is a surprise that it has taken this long for the opposition to exploit our weaknesses and target Llera. I really hope he does not play against Leeds and Beckford
Really sorry about this guys - just realised why we lost/Llera was crap. First time this season I didn't wear my Charlton shirt on a match day.. feel like a right tool, will get it ready for Saturday :~(
Parky is making the same mistake that Curbs was guilty of on so many occasions, being reactive rather than proactive. If a guy is starting to make more and more mistakes, give him a rest before it has a major negative impact on the team. Now we have a situation where not only have we got thumped but we are left with a player very low on confidence with the fans on his back. It could have so easily been avoided.

But if he had changed it and we'd lost following a Sodje mistake then the fans would have said 'why change a winning team?'.
I've never see Llera apart from the Brentford match on TV so can't really comment but to be fair he is probably the most criticised player on this board this season so I don't think people are jumoing on the bandwagon.

That's the only time I've seen him as well. But I have listened to all the commentaries and read people's opinions and player ratings on here. I think the reason why he has been the most criticized player is precisely because he has been looking more and more shakey. Which is why I said he should have been rested. Of course there will always be a few who always like to be correct with the benefit of hindsight, but that's not hindsight, it's just common sense and I saw it coming from 12000 miles away!
I've noticed several times that Elliot and Llera have gone for the same ball on crosses, maybe it's Elliot's fault in not calling, maybe Llera doesn't hear him? Whatever comunication seems to be a problem.
I'd have dropped llera for Sodje, on Saturday's evidence Llera looked a bit tired, it's not a weakness to rest players occasionally.
he has been the one disappointment this season and last nights disaster was one waiting happen judging by previous games. maybe it is his hat why he cannot hear Elliot as surely his english is not that bad.
Llera is a typical third division defender. There are times he will look suspect and vulnerable but against that he gives us much needed height, his commitment in playing with all those stitches in his head cannot be questioned and he has a sweet left foot.
Don't make him the new scapegoat he doesn't deserve it. Heis an honest THIRD DIVISION defender plying his trade and giving his best for the shirt.
Llera last night was shocking, it was not just him being a typical div 3 defender, his whole game was littered with dreadful mistakes. I am not sure that his own goal was meant as a header back to the keeper though, I think he tried to head it out for a corner but it came off the top of that silly hat and that caused it to go in the wrong direction.

well said lennard people were crying out for his determination last season. He wasnt the only bad player there last night

Bit of hope

He's always going to cost goals but you just hope they wont cost matches.
Maybe it's a language problem - how is Elliot's English?

Or issue Elliot with a megaphone.
3rd rate defender signed from 3rd rate rivals in 3rd rate league has shocker, shocker.

Spot on
Many people seem only to want a scapegoat.
