i aint crucifying it i am saying he should have scored it any striker 1 on 1 should score how is that crucifying him, i said it is irrrelevant if dicko would have scored it i would say the same if any player was 1 on 1 they should score end of especially in a team at the right end of the league where confidence is high
May not be top anymore but it needs to be understood that the league season is a marathon not a sprint. We've taken two draws from arguably 2 of the strongest squads in the league, whereas Leeds who are now above us have yet to face that sort of test.
Absurd (and idiotic) to be slagging Izale for this result. Given the constant stream of criticism levied here towards both Dickson and McLeod, we deserve neither.
In the end City were worth a point. Charlton bossed the first half and deserved their two goal lead. But Hoolahan's goal gave City a chance and they were relentless in the second half. It wasn't always pretty but they poured forward and chased the ball. The quality into the box was pretty good and in the end they got what thye deserved when Holt stole in ahead of the keeper to earn a point. A good game to watch, City eventually matched the leaders and it feels like a win at the moment.
[cite]Posted By: Stu of HU5[/cite]Why exactly do you think that is?
Because he's not good enough to get into the team, and hasn't been working hard enough to get on the bench? So, a squad player at best, not a great attitude, just the kind of player everyone wanted to get rid of.
Or just p***** off at not being given a real chance, whilst watching others not even try to pull their weight.
Yes, Dicko got a 'chance' last season, I don't think he got a fair crack of the whip though and only played in a team low in form and confidence.
Even if we wasnt going to play him ourselves, he should be rotting in the reserves or playing for a team that are not a threat to us, not a promotion rival FFS.
The more worrying thing for me is that we allowed Norwich to dominate after we went 2-0 up. We seemed to stop playing, something that we have done so often
It sounds like we were bobbins in the second half, so we can't really have any complaints. We were lucky to get a point, really. We should have won last week, that's the way it goes.
We're still unbeaten, though. That's not bad, is it?

He didn't get a chance because he didn't deserve a chance. Even though some people just won't see it, I don't think he'd score as many goals for us as he would a smaller club in this league. He needs room to get in behind defences, he needs freedom to get away from making mistakes and giving the ball away. He won't get that here.
I said I agreed about not loaning him to a promotion rival. Nothing to do with us conceding two goals though, is it? We need to defend better, rather than have to score 3 or 4 to win a game.

Talking bollocks Stu - on two counts.
McClown missed a sitter for us today; FACT
Dickson buried two (2) goals on his debut for Bristol Rovers today; FACT
Bristol Rovers are now only 2 points behind us; FACT
How exactly is it bollocks?
Or just p***** off at not being given a real chance, whilst watching others not even try to pull their weight.

I just don't see why you are so quick to jump at any chance to criticise.
Dickson scored both his goals today from long balls. Do you therefore want to change our style of play to accomodate him?
He is besides a player who it appears causes unrest and doesn't respect his manager.
So according to you we should sacrifice our top two position to field a player just because he can score for Bristol Rovers.
Besides all this, who would you drop? Burton? He has got us more than 1 goal every two games in his Charlton career.
just logged on thought at 2-0 we were a shoeing however we have conceded at the end of both half's which is disapponiting i think the one at the end of the first half after just goin 2 up is extremely disappointing.Just read that McCleod missed a one on one.Unfortunately this geezer aint going to do it for us end of,maybe he should have been loaned out.Whatever people think of him trying very hard etc,it aint goin to happen at charlton, time to cut our losses, this aint a rant at him, just being reaslistic, hey ho,funny how 2 draws for us and 2 wins for rovers have brought them a lot closer.
Funny how the other day when we won against Brentford, everyone was praising McLeod. Now because he misses one chance, he's terrible, never going to score, get Dickson back.

Only according to the same incompetent manager whom it's claimed he does not respect.

He is a very similar player to McClown, who is exactly who I'd drop him for.
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]I don't think its too bad a thing not being top of the league. As long as we don't drift off.
I think that being top from the start of the season puts pressure on we don't need.
As long as we stay in the automatic promotion places I don't care. Ideally I'd like to have at least a three point + gap to the team in third place as well.
But I don't understand your point about pressure - after our start the pressure is on our opponents, not on us, and if our players can't handle being top of the league then I'd start to wonder about their mental strength. It's going to be a long season and we have a small squad, we have to expect the odd lead surrendered.

Not everyone.
Yeah sorry I didn't mean literally everyone. You get the idea though.
The blokes on the commentary seemed to think we had won with 4 mins left - clearly they haven't watched them as much as us.
If someone said 2-2 at 3pm I'd be happy - just pissed off that we didn't win with 91 mins on the clock. Defence sounded solid but we couldn't give ourselves some breathing space in the last 5 minutes by closing the game out.
Parkinson saying the equaliser was dubious. Is it me or is he sounding more london in his accent each week? Hes been watching that Steve mcClaren video.

Why is it I find myself nodding to PP but used to roll my eyes listening to Pardew.... and doze off listening to Curbs :-)

What?
Still unbeaten and going well.

yeah but they won't show 'chances' I'd imagine, just goals

.....
What's that all about FFS? No history between us and them is there?

Think it's mostly the Norwich fans bigging it up, but it's all a bit petty if you ask me.
I got the prediction exactly roght....
2-2 dramtic draw....
thats got to be a first...
