You don't need the space between "surely" and "?"

    ;o)
  • [quote][cite]Posted By: Les Berrys Tash[/cite]Quick comment as I'm sitting in a meeting, fot those who went to the Pardew Q and A did you.notice the difference?

Pardew was arrogant but still funny and I left having enjoyed the night.

Parky was focused, committed, talked sense and I left very confident the club has a good manager, whatever happens this season I'm confident we'l finish to the best level the squad can[/quote]

That is an interesting point L B T.

I was going to ask those who attended both Q & A's if there was a big difference. I know that there not the same man and views would differ, but I recall the general concensus of fans were pleased and satisfied with Pardew's answers and views on that up coming season, when before that night supporters were becoming a bit doubtful of his management style and the results in the second half of the previous season.

Sounds like Parky was a lot more candid, honest and "real" if you know what I mean by that.

    Is that right?

No, but you do need a full stop after ""?"".
  • You don't need a full stop after a question mark.
  • [cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]You don't need a full stop after a question mark.

No, but you do after a quotation.

Depends where the quotation is within the sentence.
  • Only just got around to reading this thread and there are some great reports and analyses up here. It sounds like a really positive exercise - a lot of things are being said that we have been waiting to hear for a while - I like especially Parky's attitude to player discussions. Spot on.

Thanks for the informative posts everyone.
  • Sorry about that guys. I won't always do it Henry, promise. ;-)

In this case, the question mark was part of a quote forming part of a full sentence, which would thus require a full stop. The fact that the quote includes a question mark is merely incidental. But even I'm bored with this now...
  • was chatting to some one on the way to Norwich who said the following:

Parky 100% confirmed there was to be a take over and he has met the new owners !!!
Parky was told by new owners not to buy this winger he was about to sign ,because we will be aiming higher than that
Racon was being linked to Doncaster/Preston?and Coventry ---Parky sat him down and he agreed to stay at The Valley
It was easy to get Shelvey to stay at the Valley rather than Chelsea

the first two above are stunning if true -----------so if any lifers where there can they confirm the above ?
  • It's a nice thought, as for a winger reckon we should go for Andy Barcham come Jan, would annoy Scally and he is a quality wideman.
Racon was also linked with Plymouth but the best thing about Plymouth this season has been the Aviva advert.. Green Army! Get the impression, Parky's man management with some players is excellent (McLeod, Racon etc), saying that could it be worse than Pardew's. Actually think keeping Racon could be the most important thing we did during the summer and we need to try and get him signed up as i believe his contract ends at end of season.
  • gh, not true.

He did say he'd met some potential owners who had said not to buy puncheon as we'd be able to afford better.

PP certainly never said the TO was done. Either u or your mate has got the wrong end of the stick.

Racon signed a 4 year deal. Though I guess the final year could be an option, just the club chose to announce it as 4 years. We saw that sort of situation with Weaver, announced as 3 years but released after two. Perhaps Weaver had to play a certain number of games to win another year.

Sam is out of contract though, so I hope he signs up soon as Jonjo and Elliot have.
  • Henry cant see how i have got the wrong end of the stick i was asking if what i had been told was true, as i wasntthere couldnt really have any sorta stick. Thank you for your clarification.
  • gh, as i said must have been your informant then who got the wrong end of the stick.
  • HI, GH easy to take what was said and then get it slightly wrong. HI's clarification is correct and it seems that the consortium then disappeared to be replaced by another who also told PP that he should hold back on is spending as there would be more money available for better targets
