So let's enjoy our moment. No need to have a foot in the past and a foot in the future, if we're not appreciating what seems to be at the moment the rebirth of our team.
Supporters and everyone at the club has to pull together to ensure that Third division football is a thing of the past next season. We've got off to a fantastic start, and there will be dips in form. But it's a marathon, not a sprint.
Sure the Prem is the place to be, if it can be sustained. As I posted above, along with several others, the best we could possibly hope for in the medium term is to be the "yo-yo" club between Championship and Prem, making every season one that goes to the wire - such a rollercoaster ride provides the excitement and tension that in his heart most supporters yearn for.
We keep our finances in control - but we still get a pop at the big boys, and claim a famous scalp every so often.
When I saw the title of this thread, I though it would go along the lines of: Would you rather.... rim 1905 the night after a curry or wear one of Ben's cardigans for every home game this season?
I think if we stay at this level for a few seasons winning games and then go back to the champ we would have a real chance of being a top champ side again.
However if we win the league it could be very different as there is nothing like wiunning a trophy to install confidence in a set of players.
Firstly i hope no one thinks i am an idiotic new member Life has its ups and downs, so does supporting a football club Whatever division we are in i am proud to be a Charlton fan. Sure those premiership days were memorable and a the saying goes all good things come to an end. How humiliating was it last season to see us rooted to the bottom of the Championship, but we are turning a corner and have a confidence about us that has previously been sadly lacking. We all remember when we had no money and no ground. Sure, i would love to see us back in the Premiership but at this moment in time i am enjoying being top of the league even if it lower one that I would have liked. Who is to say in a couple of seasons we wont beat Arsenal again 4-2! The main thing is to stick with your team through thick and thin which i guess you have all been doing, thats what makes us such a special club

this is a bit of a tricky one..... becasue I have had a massive smile on my fac so far this season and its probably due to the disasterous last three seasons..... and you have to ask yourself what you enjoy about football....
For me its the moment, the moment the goal gos in.... particularly if its the first goal of a game, in fact almost any goal.....
that moment...
now at the moment we arent playing any great shakes... but to be honest i couldnt give a monkeys... I tune in at either 12pm kick off or 2am kick off here and to listen to us banging them in is a joy!!! particularly after seeing the sun coming up at 4am and us losing to to someone we shouldnt have... and my girl stirring to have me tell her we got done 2-nought....
the prem welll... yeah it would be magic to watch the games.... but to see rooney, adebayor, arshavin, gerrard, drogba, etc tear us apart would be shit I reckon...
so for me.... a rebuild, but we aint gonna get back there guys ...
My view is we were the last team that got there through team spirit.... the league hadnt gone super ridiculous by then ... we bullied our way in thtough passion and commitment .... now that just doesnt cut it......
OR does it....
who knows, Im rambling.....
for me its more a case of are we winning or fighting, do we care.... as are the players alright and do I like them....
If we are winning, and attacking ..... then generally I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!

This is the key point for me, if we can do this AND compete in the top flight then obviously the top flight is the place to be. If we've got gamble our future to just to tread water up there then I'd rather we stayed lower down the leagues and enjoyed our football safe in the knowledge the club isn't going to go through 3 or 4 years of turmoil off the back of one bad season.
