[cite]Posted By: oohaahmortimer[/cite]i think if you draw 3 games lose 7 in your 'caretaker' period as manager when the club was in desperate need of a boost and you were part of the mismanagement that got charlton into this mess and you were given the job for whatever time it was i'd consider that backing from the boardroom
Maybe last Christmas, but that's a long time ago now.
We're talking now and the past month or so.
Do you know if he'll still be in a job this Christmas or even next week?
well parky knows he's in a job now and he has been since last christmas these are facts everything else is guessing ... as for the future well we'll soon see
i think with him getting 4 wins he might feel more comfortable with his position than he did during his 'caretaker' period ... i know i would
At best what Parky has done is to unite and rejuvenate a club that was falling apart at the seams and may well have set the basis for a swift promotion back into the Championship.
At worst this is a false dawn and Parky has earnt himself a few more weeks of gainful employment, but I don't think so, I sense a unity and shared purpose that has been awol for the last two/three seasons.
I was against retaining him at the end of last season but he's conducted himself with great dignity, not easy given the circumstances on and off the pitch, and has worked hard and for that he deserves our respect and support. But for his/our sakes we need to get some players in and soon, this is the weakest squad that I can remember and if we don't strengthen it then when the inevitable injuries and suspensions kick-in we'll lose ground and I'd hate to see a potentially great season veer off course because we have to start playing kids fresh from the youth teams in key games.
As I've said in the past Parky isn't in the same league as Curbs but you are comparing 'apples & pears'.
Parky is however proving he is the man for the moment (like many others I thought he should have gone with Pardew). Witnessing first hand the events of yesterday at Prenton Park proved this to me and that I was too quick to blame him for being asociated with the Pardew era. Great spirt in the camp now and brilliant interaction with the fans. Never thought I would be hearing "Parky, Parky give us a wave". And he did!

Could he work alongside Curbs. I reckon so.
Yes I was hoping for a bit of goodwill for him....
this question just seems more and more relevant, with porno king interested in us......
Id still absolutely keep Parky, hes been doing a blinding job, Id also give him access ro some money, but from a business sense Curbs is the FAR safer bet......
Potential for another club unrest ahead? Absolutely....
Imagine if Parky got us promoted and then got the chop to let Curbs in with all the money... very interesting times ahead.......
SO as the question asks....
Imagine the takover happened 10 mins ago and have money and a willing curbishley waiting in the wings....
Would you want to fire parky and bring curbs back ...
Parky in charge and curbs as Director of Football,. Parky deserves to be given a chance. It's his team and he should be left alone to get on with it. Besides it could also mean that Mervyn would return
One minute beating the Arsenal 4-2 at Highbury, the next getting outplayed by Northwich Victoria, you couldn't make it up. Curbs must be sitting there thinking, what have they done to my baby!

I bet Parky doesn't.

at points last year if we had played the kent amateur golf XI we would have lost....
another few games without us crumbling and we may have laid that ghost to rest....
if we beat tranmere (4th from bottom) I will be over the moooooon....
Id take a draw just to keep the run going....
However with the run we are on a draw could feel like a defeat.....
Daylight at the top would feel wonderful...
And Parkinson will be sacked for only taking Charlton to a 10 points lead at the top of the division.
Everybody else in football will be puzzled.
But not Ooh Aah.
;o)

Christ Oggy.... its so mental yet sane its so charlton.... it might just bloody happen....
so Parkinson keeps his job with the worst record in football history and then win 20 games in a row and gets fired....
yep defo charlton...
; )
hes really had the lows and is now proving what he can do at this level.....

CURBS!!!! and wheres this bloody pretend takeover......
Curbs must be sitting there thinking, what have they done to my baby!
yeah but we had more chance of beating northwich
Think it was more like years than minutes
Good job, a Curbs Charlton never lost a cup game to a team in a lower division.
Ever!
