  • yeah unallocated seating is stupid, i guess it'll be like getting a ryanair flight, but with 10 times as many people..

[cite]Posted By: Telnotinoz[/cite](consider the woeful 600 or so at QPR)

Was it even that many ? Reading was a disgrace as well.

Can't wait for this one, should be good, but unallocated seating - whats all that about. Unless you leave the pub at 7PM it's going to be a nightmare.[/quo

if we sell out it will be chaos. Unreserved seating in this day and age is nonsense. Expect mass standing in walkways and getting on for half=time before everyone finds a seat.
  • Surely this will sort the standing/sitting debate.

Anyone who wishes to sit goes to the front, simple
  • But I don't understand the logic behind it ? What are the pro's ?

Probably cheaper for Mr Hearn to get the tickets printed. Just buy a huge job lot and don't worry about the extra wording for row, seat number etc etc.
  • unreserved is okay when there are 300 fans in an area that sits 600 but when it's sold out it's gonna be a nightmare. Turn up late with a few mates and you won't find seats together. As said previously hope those who want to remain seated have the sense to sit nearer the front so that those who want to stand can congregate at the back.
  • Luckily i'm only going in a group of 2, me and the old man, so should be fine for getting seats together, but we certainly arent gonna be in the ground early. Will be in the pub as late as possible before kickoff having a few birthday pints :)

I read somewhere that theres executive seats in the middle of the stand that dont get used anymore as they all moved to the new west stand, cant we just hijack them? :D
  • Thats right, this gives everyone who wishes to sit the opportunity to go to the front and the rest that dont mind to stand will be at the back!

    Hartlepool 474 (misinformed earlier!)
    Orient 2,218

That means we've sold 750 Orient today.
  • what i dont understand is according to wikipedia the east stand holds 3592, and the OS says our total allocation is 3098, leaving less than 500 seats for home fans, so cant they just give us the whole stand? surely it would be easier, as no need to seperate fans and stuff. They always give a few teams (like leeds) the whole stand anyway.

  • The front few rows are not used and covered in netting I believe, thus the restricted capacity.

Its not ideal, but its not a big issue either. If people are really that bothered, get in the stand 10 mins befor ko, and leave the end blocks empty for the late arriving drunks
  • Might be that they have sold some home tickets/want to accommodate season-ticket holders, who they seem to move for large turnouts. I'm sure we were originally told we could have 3,600, but no one was clear we would sell them . . .

In fairness, not many other clubs would give you a third of their capacity.
  • Getting our 2 tomorrow, hope we don't sell out in the meantime!

They probably would if they only averaged a quarter.
  • Just heard 2800 now sold.
  • Make that 2803............

    End block it is then!?

Where did you hear that from ?

I know sales have picked up, but i'd be staggered if we had sold 600 in the first hour this morning, wouldn't you ?

It says on the O/S as of thursday morning nearly 2300 have been sold with 800 more available.

    It also says
it seems likely that Charlton fans will occupy a quarter of the capacity of the Matchroom Stadium next midweek.

It's going to be a good one.
  • Dan...you could get there at 6.30pm and marshall the crowd....well volunteered mate.....good on yer

Can you reserve me a seat somewhere near the half way line about half way back?

    lol

A mate of mine went to pick one up from the ticket office and that is what he got told. Didnt make sense to me unless you start thinking about all the online purchases that may have been made after the ticket office closed last night and may have just started going through them?
  • looks like our allocation will be sold well before Tuesday whatever happens

we might even have CAFC having to go in the home ends

    when did that last happen?

where's Ooh Aah - he's been conspicuous by his absence/silence on this thread...

hope he's managed to get tickets and hasn't left it too late!

OohAah is sitting patiently watching ticket sales for the following away game at Tranmere, ready to come on here and moan if we don't take 5k up there.
  • 2300 according to the OS.....800 to go before a sell out
  • hang on, the OS says we'll have a quarter of the capacity, weve sold 2300 ish and have around 800 left, so about 3100 tickets in total. The capacity of Brisbane Road is 9,271. Surely 3100 out of 9271 is a third, not a quarter....?

Yeah but i think they are working it out by stands , so the main stand hold 2300 which 25% of is 625 + the old east stand is 1550 plus 45 wheelchair access so say we get 18% of that is 287 , the stand behind the opposite goal is all seated so you've got 988 there so a 1/3 of that is 296 and the remaining stand is all ticket meaning we can get whatever we like so there is the difference
