Gun-running
Drug and narcotics pushing
Currency violations
Human Rights abuses
Exploitation of Asian child workers
Polluters
Owners of American sports "franchises"
Sundry other abusers of the "fit and proper owners" guidelines
Pornographers
Does Polluters cover owners of dodgy airlines? ;-)
[cite]Posted By: Simon E[/cite]Just had a thought.
If this takeover is going ahead:
1, What will happen to Parky?
2, If Parky does go, who is coming in to replace him?
3, will a new manager have enough time to reshape/rebuild the squad?
Like I said just a thought.
1. We don't know. Personally I think he will stay even though I know as I write that the Troll will be quoting it within hours
2. I'd like to see Nigel Adkins
3. If we have money then yes IMHO. There is a core of decent players here already if we can hang onto them. A couple of defenders and a goalscorer and we are set. Paul Hayes from Scunthorpe would do me.

Blimey Simon, no offence but your thought process is a bit slow :-)
We've been discussing this for about 9 months.
I know.
But I thought that now it actually looks like it will happen (instead of the "nailed on fact - it's gonna happen on x date" that people have been banging on about for months), what will be the answers to those questions, based on the fact the we are now just a couple of weeks away from the start of the season.
Will they still be the same answers? Just an idea for further debate.
Will depend on whether any new owners have been working behind the scenes and already have a new manager lined up. I somehow doubt this scenario and agree with Henry that PP will stay if only on probation.

1) I think Parky will be manager at the start of the season, come what may. If he starts poorly and we do have new owners, I reckon he will be out the door.
2) I have no idea. It's all about knowledge and experience at this level in my view. Those that manage well at a lower level and with less talent don't always at a higher level and vice versa. Look at Ince at MK Dons vs at Blackburn, Dowie at P*l*ce vs Charlton.... I do not know what good looks like in terms of managers at this level. Hence why Parky (dare I say it) may be as good a bet as any.
3) Much depends on pressure to sell or existing quality leaving. If Bailey, Racon, Shelvey and Zhi stay and a new manager could build around them, we'd be fine.
If a new owner comes in I'm pretty confident that Parky will be toast. The new owner needs to get the fans on his side plus it'll boost season ticket sales. Whomever is coming in has had plenty of time to source a new man and have him ready and waiting. As such it must be someone currently out of a job so Cotterill, Poyet, Boothroyd immediately spring to mind.
I cannot beleive that there are fans on here slating the fact that the Q&A has been cancelled!
Don't have a go at Mr. Murray & Mr. Chappel, the poor organisation (you try doing it next time, it wasn't poor it was just people moaning for moanings sake) or even have a go at the club for the constant "poor communication" over the summer.
They owe us no apologies at all. Look at the press release, there are so many signs that they clearly wanted to get across that the takeover is happening that if you can't see it you really should be supporting Millwall!
WE ARE GOING THROUGH A PERIOD OF NON DISCLOSURE AS THERE IS A TAKEOVER HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe Mr Murray organised the Q&A session for this week to try and force the completion of any takeover before the start of the new season, because whilst there has been rumours for months the first actual fact has been the cancellation of the Q&A's due to legal advice.
Maybe you could point us to the accounts where it says we came down from the Prem with £45 to £50m of debt. Not my re-collection of the figures at all.
Also the SLP doesn't say that the directors are willing to write off £30m of debt only that they are willing to write off £30m.
That £30m write off could consist of both bonds/loans to the Club (which is debt) and shares (equity) which is not. It will depend on how much any new owners are offering for the shares (£10, £1, £0.01p?) and how much of the bonds they are willing to buy (100%, 50%, 5%?).
We don't know and neither do the papers. As others have said they have just lifted the story off the OS having not mentioned it at all over the past four months.
Maybe if and when a takeover happens we will get more info. Let's hope it happens cos which ever figure it is the debt is bad.
It's evident from what Murray says, that all the directors together will have to be prepared to write off £30 million of their personal investment, which is not the same as club debt.
I don't know about the figures, but neither the Telegraph nor the Guardian do this kind of story off its own back. The words that have been printed are strikingly similar and it all bears a strong whiff of press releases.

Indeed, where do you think I got my inspiration from?
You were once a director of a football club? You kept that one quiet...
I'd rather not talk about my time at Palace if you don't mind

I used to go to school with a fella called Michael Smith. He supported CAFC so it could be him

Let's hope these are all live OPTIONS very soon.
It's in The Grauniad, now I believe it.

'Charlton are believed to have debts of £40m' appears in all three articles - believed by the gullible maybe
Or maybe the truth is coming out.
