[cite]Posted By: T.C.E[/cite]I drove past the H&G not an hour ago and noticed all the corregated curtains are down as well. Not sure if there's a connection.
Yes the House of Gloom is currently being renovated before opening as Charlton's first African Church. Parking on Sunday's looks like being worse than matchdays!

I don't think you have to obey any parking restrictions if you are heading to a church. Atleast that is the impression you get if you drive past the New Wine place on a Sunday, red route my arse.
will be giving the oak a swerve and heading straight to the Anchor after the game to celebrate the start of the new season. And who knows we might be celebrating more than just the start of the season!
Not specifically talking about tomorrow with the Trust meeting, but the Oak does need people to go along for a beer.
Or next time you walk past, it really will be boarded up or bulldozed for flats
I was in the Oak this afternoon. Three tellys now with two seperate Sky boxes. All the beers on and snacks! Plastic plants and fresh flowers. Accommodating new landlady who says she's there for the longhaul.
[cite]Posted By: Curb_It[/cite]lately? it only reopened last night and most on here are not local. am sure people will be able to give you reports after saturday.
Do you mean that it has been open for one day and you haven't been in there? Strange .........

Pub seems OK, just got back from a quick reccy. Like the idea of the 3 teles and two different sky boxes (AKA Rose of Denmark). Managers seeem to be making an effort. Even tropical plants. Beer up 15p a pint, therefore only had eight.

Lighten up.
why sis? it is closed.
they'll need a crane to rip off tha reinforced steel door on there.
& just in time for my pre match Pride
happy days
:-D
The proof of the pudding is in the eating ...... or drinking, on this case.
Give it a chance, new people, new ideas, new energy.
It's not fair to compare it now with the disheartened, disinterested bunch that ran down the place before.
A new wine church of god i would presume

Dont see the point. The lib suits me for a few pre-match bevvies. I dare say it'll be the Oak for after the game though...
